This is my 2012 Laredo V6 towing my 2009 Ski Nautique 196 (about 3200lbs total with trailer). No issues towing, but just traded this vehicle for a 2014 Overland V8. I expect it will be effortless in comparison, but can't tow until 500 miles on the clock.

Re: What are you towing?

This is all good stuff. I especially appreciate those who told their fuel economy (while towing their trailer) in their post. I tow all the time, so it really helped highlight in my mind how beneficial the diesel will be vs. the hemi.

I've only taken the Nautique on one trip of any length and got 12.5 mpg. V6 4x4 stock 18" wheels.

Re: What are you towing?

Pulling our 30ft Surveyor Select behind our 08 WK Hemi. I'm guessing around 6000lbs loaded. Weight distribution hitch with sway control - no problems pulling at all - unless it is really windy (then hang on). A lot of people give us weird looks pulling that big of a camper with a Grand Cherokee, but we don't have room for a truck (or the one I want anyway) and the WK really does a great job.

If I stay between 50 and 60, I can get around 12mpg, but anywhere above that and it drops down to 8 or so. My only complaint is going up big hills in that 50 - 65 mph range, as there really isn't a good gear in the transmission - either pulling high rpms or chugging along. Trading up soon, and can't wait to see what the 8 speed does.
