Like others have said, the 11-13s are great vehicles, and really come into their own when you look at them as a long term vehicle. Replacement costs for the 8.4" screen & 8 speed transmission, will be high, whereas the 6 speed is a proven transmission and the 430/730 can be swapped out with aftermarket units.

Bottom line: The 14s aren't as big of an upgrade as people would like you to believe, if you like the saddle and rugged brown combo, you'll be very happy with a '13 Overland as well, probably happier than with a '14 without the color combo you want.
Everybody has different priorities. I've had an 8" nav screen for the past couple of years. A few months ago I sat in a '13 Overland, looked at the 6" screen and said forget it. Maybe if I hadn't had the larger screen I wouldn't care.

I'm hoping they add red to the list of colors, but if not I'll pick another color before taking a step backwards. I also like the idea of the 8 speed tyranny.

How funny you mentioned that because looking at that picture of the interior made me think the exact same thing about how that color reminds me so much of the 1970's and the station wagons with the wood paneling.

I'm so glad I got the saddle color since that new brown color isn't for me.

Re: What can we expect of Jeep Brown interior?

My god I hope it is not that ugly in real life. Is the plastic trim really going to be that nasty brown/beige color instead of silver like in the current models?

Well, at least I will not feel compelled to upgrade...

I get the big screen thing too. That was one of the main draws of the Touareg over the Jeep to me (the TDI was the other), but the cooled seats outweighed it. Personally, I'm happy with the 6" screen since its placed very well for the driver to see. In a lot of BMWs and such they have these large screens, but they have to because the nav screen is way out of the way and then deep in the dash.

Personally, I don't think the mpg increase from the 8 speed tranny will outweigh the cost increase from it. The mpg increase I'd be interested in is the diesel, but then again there is the Touareg TDI.

Re: What can we expect of Jeep Brown interior?

My wife has a havana brown interior in her BMW w/ a mineral silver exterior. We ordered the car sight unseen and were very pleasantly surprised when it came in. Really sharp combination. I do agree with other posters though, my Summit interior is a much richer looking color.

Re: What can we expect of Jeep Brown interior?

its not a dark chocolate brown...its a muted brown. the brown/indigo is the nicest interior except for the SRt's interior.

You've seen the brown/indigo in person? How blue are the plastic pieces on the lower dash and door panels? The stock photos from jeep look beautiful, but there are some cell phone pics under fluorescent lighting that make the blue look VERY blue. Also...is the carpet blue?

Thanks!
