What car are you dumping to make room for your WK2?

I am anxiously awaiting my WK2, mainly because it is a new toy. I will be sad to part with my current ride when the jeep arrives though, my 2005 Volvo V70R. It was Volvos attempt to match the high performance versions of other companies, like the Audi S4. They don't make the "R" anymore. It has a turbo charged 300HP engine, all wheel drive, 0-60 under 6 seconds, HUGE Brembo brakes and rotors, 6 speed manual, active chassis system that lets you choose between three damping settings on the shocks (can go so stiff you feel like your in a vette), seating for 7 (with the rear facing seats in the trunk), and a nice body style that doesn't draw attention from the cops. When I got it, I thought is was faster and handled better than my Mitsu 3000GT. Like my WK2, it was a custom order and I had to wait a long time for it. I remember getting up each morning and tracking its progress on the ship as it crossed the Atlantic Ocean. I was moving from Cleveland, to Salt Lake City for work, and the car made it to Cleveland with only one week to spare! It does great in the snow and ice, except that the front spoiler is a little low, and there are days when I'm not sure I will make it out of my street if the plows haven't come through yet because of the limited ground clearance. Every car I've had in the last 22 years was a manual, and I'm tired of shifting. Can't wait to get my WK2 with automatic (something I never thought I would say).... I hope the WK2 is half as reliable as my V70R has been. I will miss her....

I had posted above regading trading in my 2010 Ram diesel 3/4 ton 4x4 Laramie. Ya know, what I really miss is that truck allowed me to be in touch with my ******* siide. I can wear my cowboy boots, wife beaters showing off my tats, I had a Cummins baseball cap with the big "C" on the front. Adn with my 300 pound RanchHand replacement bumper grill guard with a set of PIAA driving lights, pull up behind some lowerd Honda right behind real tight with my PIAA headlights shining right in....

With a deep cherry red Grand Overland, I can't do that anymore. It's such a yuppie looking car I traded in more than my truck. I traded in my ******* and replaced it with some touchy feely, latte sippin', Tommy Bahama wearing yuppie scum playing Enya on the CD. (SIGH)

Once the CRD is available...

'06 Subaru Legacy 2.5 GT Spec. B

130k miles on the odometer, and I've put almost $8k into the motor since the 100k mark. Time to cut my losses and get something better

I'm having second thoughts on trading my car in. I was considering buying a beater to eat up some of the commute duty so I don't put a ton of miles on the JGC, but I may just keep my subie. She's been good to me until recently, and one of only 500 made that year. I should have spent the $8k on a new motor, but my dealership duped me into just replacing the bad parts on my heads.

Replacing a 2011 Subaru Outback 3.6R Limited for a 2014 GC Limited CRD if they open up the order bank! The Outback is great but feels a little light when towing.

Traded in 2004 4Runnet Sport with only 55,000 miles. Best car I ever owned. Took a lot for me to move away from Toyota, but I had been drooling over the GC for a while. Found a new 2013 Overland that was perfect. I am hoping to someday say that this was the best car I ever owned.

I got 15 city and 19 or so on the fwy. I've hit 20 mpg but it requried keeping it at the sweet spot of 60 mph, flat, no headwinds, and at sea lever. Doing 75mph, uphills or headwinds, and road tripping across 6,000-7,000 foot elevation drops it to about 17 mpg or less. Not bad for an 8,000 pound diesel truck, though not as good as the old 5.9 liter Cummins which would get 22-24 mpg. The EPA choked the mileage out of a great diesel with the emissions requirements: EGR, particulate filter, and spraying raw diesel fuel into the particulate filter to burn off the soot.

Cummins will now use DEF--essentially pee water just like Ford and GMC/Chevy to increase mileage within EPA standards. The diesel Grand Cherokee also uses DEF along with all the emissions crap. Diesel used to be 20 cents less per gallon, great mileage, and lasted forever--so it almost justifed a $7,500 premium to get the Cummins. Now, diesel is 20 cents more than premium gas, a small increase in mileage, but $4,500 extra for the VM Motori diesel in the Jeep, and the cost of the DEF. I cannot justify that especially if the diesel does not say CUMMINS on it. VM Motori is probably a good engine, but Cummins 6.7 is the only medium rated diesel engine capable of being used in Class 6 and 7 trucks (it will be underpowered in most Class 7s) and proven in use in fire engines, school buses, motor homes, tractors, commercial rigs. Went on many road trips in that Ram----fire up that diesel, slip in some George Straight and it's Amarillo by Morning.....

'07 Chevy Tahoe Z71. 135k of relatively trouble free driving. Nice ride and it's treated me well. With one child going off to college and 16 mpg average, I'm ready for a smarller, more fuel efficient ride. Fortunately I'm in no hurry so the diesel is the flavor I'm waiting for.

Out of curiosity, how old is your son and what made him want to give up the Camaro for the Jeep?

2011 Ram Laramie 1500 for a 2014 jgc deep cherry red with jeep brown interior. Should have in 2 weeks?

Unless I can sell it on Craig's List first, I am trading in a 2005 Toyota Matrix for my '14 Limited. I will miss the gas mileage and ability to park in just about any small space easily, but the frustration of trying to milk passing power out of that tiny 4-cylinder is going to evaporate in the snarl of the Hemi.
