Re: What car are you dumping to make room for your WK2?

That Laredo looks very nice. What are some of your thoughts between the two. Enjoy.

Thanks, I loved the Montero Sport, but it's tough to compare a 10 year old vehicle to a brand new one. That, and I have only had the Jeep for 24 hours now! Size wise they are very similar and it was a comfortable switch. The Jeep feels like a better build, but 10 years of beating on the MS probably has something to do with it.

I did a fair amount of mods to the Montero Sport. I fabbed a custom mesh grille, custom wheels (had to have the hubs bored out to fit), Westin side steps, bigger tires, big stereo system, trailer hitch, etc. The thing was a tank in the snow and mud and never let me down, but it needed money put into it and I love the look of the new Jeep WK2, and wanted to get back to American made.

I'm sure I will be putting my own touches on the WK2, so I went for a fairly basic model, knowing I would be upgrading the wheels/tires, stereo, etc.

Re: What car are you dumping to make room for your WK2?

Thats great bro. I'm kinda tired of moding my vehicles as I don't keep them long enough, then I have to take them out. I have changed out all the speakers and added two 12" subs. Not to mention amps. I have to remove all and return to stock before my wk2 arrives. Best of luck.

I'm in the same boat. I have to pull the head unit and amps out of the Mitsubishi and replace it with the stock stereo before I sell it. I'll leave the speakers, too much hassle and it's time for an upgrade anyways. I drive my cars into the ground so I like to think I get my money's worth out of the mods.

Re: What car are you dumping to make room for your WK2?

I had a 09 hummer h3 I sold and then went with the 2011 JGC, main reason was interest rate / monthly payments. I picked up the hummer right after GM stopped offering leases so I was paying top dollar for crap gas mileage.I also dont keep my cars long and do alot of modding to sound system and such. With the JGC I am pretty happy with sound system and car overall, its probably just going to get a sub box and maybe some bigger tires, other then that all is well.

Re: What car are you dumping to make room for your WK2?

2001 Volvo XC70. Bought new by my mother and we paid her 12k for it 2007 with 83k miles. The motor became full of sludge because the Volvo dealer used inferior oil and the 7500 mi. intervals turned the motor into a molases factory. The turbo threw the bearings and long story short it cost $3k for a new/used turbo and to clean what they could of the motor. It is pretty healthy now and drives like new a great car but time for a change. A '12 Overland 4x4 HEMI and saddle/black interior.
