I am anxiously awaiting my WK2, mainly because it is a new toy. I will be sad to part with my current ride when the jeep arrives though, my 2005 Volvo V70R. It was Volvos attempt to match the high performance versions of other companies, like the Audi S4. They don't make the "R" anymore. It has a turbo charged 300HP engine, all wheel drive, 0-60 under 6 seconds, HUGE Brembo brakes and rotors, 6 speed manual, active chassis system that lets you choose between three damping settings on the shocks (can go so stiff you feel like your in a vette), seating for 7 (with the rear facing seats in the trunk), and a nice body style that doesn't draw attention from the cops. When I got it, I thought is was faster and handled better than my Mitsu 3000GT. Like my WK2, it was a custom order and I had to wait a long time for it. I remember getting up each morning and tracking its progress on the ship as it crossed the Atlantic Ocean. I was moving from Cleveland, to Salt Lake City for work, and the car made it to Cleveland with only one week to spare! It does great in the snow and ice, except that the front spoiler is a little low, and there are days when I'm not sure I will make it out of my street if the plows haven't come through yet because of the limited ground clearance. Every car I've had in the last 22 years was a manual, and I'm tired of shifting. Can't wait to get my WK2 with automatic (something I never thought I would say).... I hope the WK2 is half as reliable as my V70R has been. I will miss her....
Touareg- i have a 2004 for my wife. i have NEVER been in a more complicated piece of sh*t car... i'm getting ready to dump 4,000 into it just to get it sold... it's a major sore spot for me.
Re: What car are you dumping to make room for you WK2?
i had an 09 Acura TSX that I traded in... loved that car and wish I could afford to keep that and my Overland. But, the WK2 can do things and go places the TSX can't, and it's just as luxurious, if not a bit more.
Re: What car are you dumping to make room for you WK2?
I'll trade the old faithful 96 Grand Cherokee Laredo which was through the Jeep Jamboree when almost new and plenty of other off road as well as snowed in type conditions.
Re: What car are you dumping to make room for you WK2?
Trading in a Durango and Liberty. Finally decided that 5 vehicles was a hassle to keep maintained. I sold one of my motorcycles and now trading in two SUVs for the new WK2. Although, I keep looking at the empty room in the garage....I've always wanted a project car.

Trading in a bought-new 2000 Cherokee Classic with Selec-Trac and Trac-Lok with about 220,000 trouble free miles on in. A faithful ride that loves deep snow, but all good things must come to an end and I need a bigger back seat. Looking forward to a new Overland, my fourth Jeep.

When I place my order I will be giving up a 2006 BMW X3. Great car that has been nothing but a pleasure to drive and own. Not a thing wrong with it. The allure of this new GC Overland is just too much to take.

Moved through my mid-life crisis, if you can even call it that, and releasing a second in a series of bimmers (black 335xi). Enjoyed them both very much, but looking forward to approaching retirement and exciting years ahead that the Overland JGC will bring my way (Colorado Rocky Mountains).
