Re: What car are you dumping to make room for your WK2?

Hi all. Long time lurker and finally pulled the trigger on a 2012 overland. Trading in my 05 Tacoma trd sport. I hope this jeep is as reliable as a my old truck and if it is, it's one hell of a ride.

Re: What car are you dumping to make room for your WK2?

Said goodbye to my 1998 Chevy Tahoe, for an 2012 Overland. Hope the JGC is as reliable as my Tahoe. I'm going to miss her.

Re: What car are you dumping to make room for your WK2?

Traded in a 2003 Liberty Limited in last week for a 2012 Laredo X that I had factory ordered back in October.

I'd have to say the Liberty was the best vehicle I ever owned. I could take it anywhere I wanted (well, after I eventually ditched the OEM tires). The thing was a tank. Regretted that I never put the skid plates on it; they'd definitely have some scrapes. I did put on tow hooks after, shall we say, an embarassing "incident".

I owned it for, let's see, about 8 1/2 years and 134K miles, and for that first 8 it was completely problem free - it never saw a repair bay, except for brakes, tires, and a battery.

But starting, oh, back in April, it all started to go downhill... drive shaft, water pump, radiator, torque converter, blower motor resistor, it was something new every few weeks.

So, I'll miss the vehicle very much; but geez, I'm so glad to get rid of it, too.

Re: What car are you dumping to make room for your WK2?

2007 Acura TL-Type S. Absolutely love the car, but doesn't make sense anymore from a comfort and convenience standpoint with my new job, driving 1k+ a week. Fast, fun, corners, which means stiff, cramped, and light on space. Would have kept it for a lot longer if my driving habits didn't change so drastically, but that makes me 10x more excited for the 2012 V6 Limited 4x4 with Luxury II and Adventure Group I on the way.

2 cars ago I had a 2001 Toyota Tundra with a 6" lift and 35's... I have missed off-road and cargo space, since!

Still contemplating selling my BMW E92 335i and picking up a JGC Overland. Warranty is just about to expire in May and I could really use AWD and 4 doors.

Those of you who have switched from compact sports cars to the Jeep, are you happy with your decision?

Re: What car are you dumping to make room for your WK2?

Yes happy, but these are two different animals. Nothing will match the driving feel of your BMW, nothing matches the go anywhere confidence that the Jeep provides. The Jeep is pretty competent for a 5000 lb vehicle, and is compact for a competent SUV.

You need to take some test drives, however, as it is a subjective area..

Same here. Sold my 2003 Jeep Liberty Limited. It went everywhere and handled the Chicago snow like a champ. Loved it and will miss it. However, must move on to bigger and better things.

Re: What car are you dumping to make room for your WK2?

'01 Cherokee for a '12 Laredo with Adventure 1. Loved the Cherokee, don't get me wrong, and it was a beast in snow, but we wanted something bigger and more reliable and more comfortable. Plus I wanted true AWD and not the weird BS that comes with front wheel drives and "can" transfer power to the rear.

I came from an audi S4 and do not regret my decision at all. The HEMI has plenty of power to make driving fun and all the extra room and capability is always nice to have. Still AWD and much more family friendly without being huge like a suburban or similar.

I'm guessing your looking at the 5.7L based on the fact your coming from a 335i?
