I am anxiously awaiting my WK2, mainly because it is a new toy. I will be sad to part with my current ride when the jeep arrives though, my 2005 Volvo V70R. It was Volvos attempt to match the high performance versions of other companies, like the Audi S4. They don't make the "R" anymore. It has a turbo charged 300HP engine, all wheel drive, 0-60 under 6 seconds, HUGE Brembo brakes and rotors, 6 speed manual, active chassis system that lets you choose between three damping settings on the shocks (can go so stiff you feel like your in a vette), seating for 7 (with the rear facing seats in the trunk), and a nice body style that doesn't draw attention from the cops. When I got it, I thought is was faster and handled better than my Mitsu 3000GT. Like my WK2, it was a custom order and I had to wait a long time for it. I remember getting up each morning and tracking its progress on the ship as it crossed the Atlantic Ocean. I was moving from Cleveland, to Salt Lake City for work, and the car made it to Cleveland with only one week to spare! It does great in the snow and ice, except that the front spoiler is a little low, and there are days when I'm not sure I will make it out of my street if the plows haven't come through yet because of the limited ground clearance. Every car I've had in the last 22 years was a manual, and I'm tired of shifting. Can't wait to get my WK2 with automatic (something I never thought I would say).... I hope the WK2 is half as reliable as my V70R has been. I will miss her....
dont make that mistake lol, even with winter tires the cls was useless here in Canada, plus all the problems I had with it.... it was at the dealers every 3-5 months, my friends even called the check engine light a free carwash light... had it for 3 years... thank god its over!
Toronto, well i don’t know after my experience with it i wouldn’t buy another merc... one time the engine computer blew and they did not know how to replace had to wait for 3 days until they called Germany and asked, in fact here is the list of all the problems, had to change all outside door handles, 3 speakers, engine comp, front vents, rear curtain, front calipers, couple of sensors, even cup holders had to be changed!
Horrible answer...bad dealer too? David Morris in Edmonton is the most amazing car dealership. I've only ever bought the one, and even then, one of the cheaper MBs, but they treated me like gold. They know my name when I come in and always have a loaner car ready. My Car is washed when I pick it up and they go out of their way for me. Kelowna MB is good like that too.
well no i would not say i received a bad service the dealer always smiled knew me by name.. well after so many visits he should heh and the car was always washed too hence the free wash light joke, but the fact that it always broke is just unacceptable when you pay that much money for a car, ahh but the other service advisor that replaced my older one now he was an idiot, i forgot to mention my in dash cd changer broke so he began by turning my wheel, and i was like how is my wheel connected to the cd changer makes no sense.. now his reply was amazing "you never know"... perhaps it was just one of those bad experiences but it will be a while till I ever consider to buy another merc.....
I'll be turning in my 2009 Toyota Venza V6 for the GC Overland Summit. Had a Land Rover Discovery which I loved, but there's something about this GC that's calling my name.
My baby of 6 years, a blue 2006 Hummer H3 Adventure Package with it's big sunroof is going to the dealer as a trade. I would rather keep it but she is helping me bring the cost of my loaded Overland down to something reasonable.
Sad thing is I have to travel 4 hours to find the vehicle I wanted so my baby will end up at aucton or stuck in Phoenix instead of our little town here in SE AZ.
Traded my 2010 Four-Runner Limited for an Overland V6 with saddle. It is a dealer trade that has not arrived yet so they gave me a new 2011 GC to drive until my Overland shows up. I drive a lot so am happy to be putting miles on their car instead of mine and don't mind waiting a few days or weeks for the real one to get here.
2000 Pontiac Montana Van that died this week - head gasket not worth any more investment. Now I really need the JGC, but it isn't even built yet - need to see it move soon!
2007 Ford Edge. Very good car but interior was rather cheap. Traded for a 2011 blk/blk Limited-20" wheels, 5.7L, and Luxury Group II. MRSP 44,080, paid 40,050.
2008 Honda Ridgeline RTL. I really do love that truck, but the 3 year lease is up and the buyout price is too high. The dealer buyout is actually a ton cheaper, and i'm getting a $5k credit toward the GC! Looking forward to the built in NAV & Sirius so I don't have all these wires cluttering up the cockpit.
My son gets my 2007 Nissan armada 50,000 k, zero problems, still keep 2003 audi all road, 2005 hemi magnum, 2003 Porsche turbo, and 2006 caterham lotus replica.
Wife is getting rid of her 2000 Intrepid (which is on its last legs), and taking my Black 2006 Pacifica AWD Ltd. which is in A1 shape. I'm getting the GC Overland.
