I am anxiously awaiting my WK2, mainly because it is a new toy. I will be sad to part with my current ride when the jeep arrives though, my 2005 Volvo V70R. It was Volvos attempt to match the high performance versions of other companies, like the Audi S4. They don't make the "R" anymore. It has a turbo charged 300HP engine, all wheel drive, 0-60 under 6 seconds, HUGE Brembo brakes and rotors, 6 speed manual, active chassis system that lets you choose between three damping settings on the shocks (can go so stiff you feel like your in a vette), seating for 7 (with the rear facing seats in the trunk), and a nice body style that doesn't draw attention from the cops. When I got it, I thought is was faster and handled better than my Mitsu 3000GT. Like my WK2, it was a custom order and I had to wait a long time for it. I remember getting up each morning and tracking its progress on the ship as it crossed the Atlantic Ocean. I was moving from Cleveland, to Salt Lake City for work, and the car made it to Cleveland with only one week to spare! It does great in the snow and ice, except that the front spoiler is a little low, and there are days when I'm not sure I will make it out of my street if the plows haven't come through yet because of the limited ground clearance. Every car I've had in the last 22 years was a manual, and I'm tired of shifting. Can't wait to get my WK2 with automatic (something I never thought I would say).... I hope the WK2 is half as reliable as my V70R has been. I will miss her....
1994 green Grand Limited V8 fully loaded including "luxury leather" seats (offered only for awhile), with 162k miles and in great condition. The best vehicle we ever had, overall, sold to folks we know who have been salivating over it for months. Mom, pop and three kids all love it, even their grandpa keeps taking it out when he can, and we super love our 2012 cherry red Overland.:detailer:
Got rid of a 2004 Corvette C5 converitble (1SB package, Z51) in Medium Spiral Grey for a 2011 Limited 3.6L with Lux II in BP. I'll miss the vert but looking forward to bow hunting and ski season
2007 GMC Yukon SLT. Great vehicle, no trouble in the 5+ years we owned it. I feel like my new GC gives me almost as much room in the second row and handles much better around town. Surprisingly, I am getting about 1.5 mpg better (mostly city driving, hemi) so far with about 400 miles on the odometer.
Getting rid of my 2002 Volkswagen GTI VR6. I've had it since I was 18, and it was a fun little car, but it's on its last leg. I pick up my 2012 Mineral Gray V8 Overland tomorrow. Time for a "grown-up" car.
I traded an 08 Avalanche Z71 4x4 with everything which was at the end of its lease term, unfortunately. I miss it this is a great truck and it never broke down.
I enjoy the looks and performance of the GC very much. But no one should expect the V6 to be as miserly as the publicity claims. It requires nearly as much gas as the Avalanche needed.
I will miss the sound of the V8 engine at 8,000 rpm's. I had a 2000 WJ Limited V8 that I kept for 6 years. The longest I have ever kept any vehicle. I miss having a Jeep, so it's time for a change. I'm sure I'll love the new WK2 Overland V8 once it arrives.
Traded in my 2011 BMW M3 Sedan. Will be sorely missed, the best car I ever owned But loving the Jeep so far. Just wish the V6 had a little more grunt.. but didn't want worse MPG then the M3 so I didn't get the V8 in the Jeep... gotta pay to play I guess.
Traded '05 Grand Cherokee limited with 160,000 relative trouble free miles. Had '99 limited and '95 limited both with over 145k. My new '11 seems to be better all the way around & I didn't think I could like a car more than my '05.
I traded my 08 Grand Cherokee Limited, with the 4.7 V8, which was my third Grand Cherokee for something that was better on gas, a 10 Subaru Outback. It was a fresh redesign, and I ordered the Limited with the 3.6 H6. It's been a fine vehicle. Gets me about 23 in mixed driving, great in the snow with stock rubber, and is fairly comfortable and quiet. But, I never fell in love with the vehicle. Sure, it did everything OK, but had no "spark". So it's back to the Jeep for me, hopefully there's no hard feelings...
2008 F-250 Super Duty SuperCab diesel Lariat.
I like my Jeep, but I loved the truck.
I travel a lot, so it was not good in the City or in parking garages.
I took for granted the room that thing had behind the wheel!
traded in a 2008 fully loaded nissan altima 3.5 SE Car was good, but I really needed something better in the snow. Love the New 2012 Laredo X Package I picked up
