No, I have all of mine on my IPod. MY CD's are down in the basement along with all of my cassette and 8-track tapes.

I dont go back as far as owning 8 tracks but i remember them in my parents van but i have walked all of my cassettes out to the trash can more than once only to bring them back in. Pulling one out and looking at it sparks all kinds of memories and then they return to the corner for a few more years lol

Yeah, I know what you mean.

I still have a couple of working 8-track tape players. One of my brothers has a professional recording studio in his home and he was grabbing my old tapes and burning them onto CD's for me. He did my old Steppenwolf Rest In Peace tape first and gave that to me to try out in my 02 GC's Infinity Gold system. LOL... that really kicked ass!

Same here. I can remember my mom playing her Kenny Rogers 8 track over and over in our Chevy Beauville van. Talk about cruel punishment.

Ahhhh... listening to the Beach Boys play live is a helluva lot different experience from the tinny sound recording from studios of their day. I was amazed at how cool that sounded.

Re: What did you do to your WK2 today?

Finished installing V3 Tritons in the tail lights and replaced the stock fogs with VX3 Gen 2 LED's. After the fight to get the fogs in my hands look like I got in a disagreement with a rose bush. They don't make it easy...

Re: What did you do to your WK2 today?

the usb/sd slot on the Jeep has got me thinking about replacing the aftermarket deck on my car with another one that has those instead of a cd player. Currently I have to plug my ipod into a cord I've got snaked around the center console from the back of the deck. Going without a cd player is one of my favorite featers on the GC.

Re: What did you do to your WK2 today?

The new Jeep is running beautifully. But my 1991 F-150 really needed new shocks. There is a bridge over a dry riverbed about 3 miles from the house. When I drove over it at 50 MPH, it was like riding a pogo stick! I had Monroe Air Shocks on the rear, and Monroe Matic's on the front. All of them were wore out and leaking oil. So I put a new set of Rancho 5000's on the front, and a pair of Gabriel Ultra's on the back.

I started early and managed to get it done in a couple of hours. The worse part was pulling out all of the old air lines for the air shocks. The rear Gabriel Ultra's had a wire retention strap around them, compressing them. I bolted the top in first, then cut the retaining strap.

The shock extended slowly but FORCEFULLY. I managed to guide it into the bottom bracket with one hand, while I shoved the bolt through the bracket with the other. You get one crack at this, otherwise you have to fight the damn thing, trying to compress it back in. I had no leverage with my 62 year old ass laying on my back underneath the thing, so I was lucky I got it right the first time with both of the rear shocks. I greased both bolts, and they managed to go right in as soon as the holes lined up.

I had to pull the front wheels off, but I managed to get the rear ones on without having to pull them. Now I'm sore and tired, but overall the job went well. The truck rides beautifully. I hit that same bridge at 50 MPH this morning, and you could hardly feel it. Air Shocks don't give you a very good ride. They're nice for carrying loads, but I rarely do that any more. These new Gabriel Ultra's really ride nice. Almost as good as the new Jeep. Now my work is done! I'll watch the Indy Car race this afternoon, and my shooting shows while I pet the dog.
