Nah. That's what I would've stuck with if they had turned out right with film, but they didn't. And honestly the paint finish/look comes out much better than most film tints I've seen online. They usually have that orange peel look with dimples at a certain angle, as did mine with Lamin-X and whatever film the shop tried.

Snagged this photo today at lunch, finally.

I always see this silver Overland in the parking garage where I work and wanted to see both side-by-side.

Re: What did you do to your WK2 today?

Spent an ungodly amount of time cleaning the Jeep this weekend (exterior only, that is!) and just finished up the detailing this morning.

Steps were as followed:

Wash, Clay Bar, Wash, Clay Bar, De-Badged everything but rear Jeep emblem, Clean off tape residue, Wash, Clay Bar, Sealant, Polish.

And now my arms are dead tired, but the paint looks so much better. And I'm a lot happier with less plastic chrome stuck onto the car than before.

Re: What did you do to your WK2 today?

Did you see a difference from after the first clay bar to after the second clay bar?

I might do the same if you think it was worth the time. Also, how long did it take you to complete the clay bar job?

Definitely saw more of a difference after the second round of clay barring the whole thing, mainly the hood and front fascia though because they had the most contaminant build up.

Doing the clay bar twice (before I removed the badges) probably took me over an hour or two at least, not including washing and everything else.

And of course, as I'm leaving work tonight, it's downpouring rain. Sweet timing.

Front Differential Fluid Change
Transfer Case Fluid Change

Hopefully get to the Rear Diff tonight. Hard to find a 14mm Hex bit, but I am borrowing one.

Re: What did you do to your WK2 today?

I changed the engine oil by myself after the first 5 free oil changes by dealer was done. Extremely easy task!

I used Castrol Edge Synthetic 5W30 since Mobil1 does not seem to be certified yet by Jeep.

Cheers,
-A

Re: What did you do to your WK2 today?

Professional. But watching them do it I prob could have done it myself. It was 100 for the tails rear fogs and 3rd brake light. Better then risking me screwing it up lol
