Any idea on why her brake light flashes?

The flashing 3rd brake light is a dealer installed item. The dealer calls it a safety pack that they over charge for. It's something that gets wires in just behind the light. Amazon.com : Vehicle Brake Light Flasher Module. Safety Flash Light Alert. Universal. For Motorcycles and Cars. : Automotive Electronic Flashers : Car Electronics

My guess is these will become standard equipment in a few years. Just like all these "back up alarms" you hear beeping all day at construction sites.

Went to Koons in Northern Virginia for a $90 oil change, $40 tire rotation and $~20 State inspection and walk out with a $605 bill that added differential fluid service... I looooove them.

Did you ask for that service? Did they ask you if they could do it? Was your vehicle actually due for that service based on the tables in the manual?

The reason I asked is because for my MY12, (with 8K service intervals rather than your 10k service intervals) only requires drive train fluids to be changed at 65K miles IF the vehicle is used for taxi, law enforcement or other "heavy use" situations. Otherwise, it's not even on the manufacturer's schedule...other than an occasional "inspection".

Re: What did you do to your WK2 today?

Taking my GC to the dealer tomorrow. Scheduled the appointment 6 weeks ago, that's the soonest they could get me in. I'm nervous as heck. They always screw something up and I have a laundry list of things that need fixed. Wish me luck

Thanks for the details. Definitely their way of wording my needs for my car, my lack of time to double check manual, and perhaps even me being naive may have cost me $$$ today. Is a love-hate relationship with them. They definitely play the card of anyone around Norther Virginia does heavy use of their cars. Bought used with 30k in March 2015 and just hit 50k last week. All they said was they had no record of it ever being done, or something like that. Well, whats done is done. Another inconvenience of having the manual in digital form and not printed.
