Pipes look great in black, did you have much trouble fitting them and hows the seat of the pants dyno ??

Re: What did you do to your WK2 today?

Pipes fit really easy. Just had to work out the weird clips holding the cold side pipe to intake manifold but got there pretty quickly. I actually had the whole front end off including intercooler out and was going to fit my murchison cooler but it's not a quick job so ended up just fitting the pipes and will tackle it again sometime as I ran out of time. The worst part was modifying the engine cover. I need to raise the front male ball joint piece if you call it that, that holds the front engine cover mount secure so it clears the hot side pipe. Trimmed the front of engine cover to allow for the cold side just before it enters the intake manifold.

Seat of pants dyno was pretty skid free. Throttle response seems a little better but hard to tell. Slightly more turbo sound through the AFE CAI but not much. Run it through the paddle shift and it sounds a bit more whistley but not really why I did it. Once cooler is fitted and there is a 3" turbo back exhaust available in Aus I will get it tuned.

Re: What did you do to your WK2 today?

More like "What I'm about to do".. I got LED H11s for my headlights (2014 Limited non-hid), on my old car it was a question of about 5 minutes to install them so I figured it would be just as easy here, turns out I was terribly wrong. What's the consensus, is it easier to take the whole front fender off to get access to headlights and have enough space to install the LEDs or can it be somehow finagled from above with just the airbox out on driver side and the large connectors removed on passenger side? I'm not 100% comfortable installing them just by touch since I have not done it before... I'm leaning towards the fenderectomy, doesn't seem to take too long to do that.

Re: What did you do to your WK2 today?

Just took wet paper towels to all of the exterior lights, backup camera lens and rear license plate. The road salt accumulation is really cutting down my visibility on the O'dark-thirty morning commute.

That may improve my reaction time by 2 nanoseconds if I encounter a deer... should get a brighter reflection off the eyeballs while it's hunkering down in the ditch, waiting to jump out in front of me. LOL...

Finally gave it a good bath... got rid of all salt/sand etc. Also vacuumed interior and installed new slush mats.

Spent 7 hrs doing a "quick" detail. Wash, Polish, wax and sealant. That's the only thing that I can afford to do these days.

Be thankful you can do all that in just 7 hours. It would take me 2 days!

Nothing wrong with that. That reminds me, I really need to detail my interior, wash, clay, and apply a few coats of wax this weekend. The exterior hasn't had a lot of love in the last 6 months.
