It was a couple of days ago, but I finally got a chance to wash the road crud off.

Re: What did you do to your WK2 today?

Hacked my cross bars to make them quieter! Used my power drill to roll kitchen plastic wrap to create a thin strand I could wiggle inside the cross bar and stop air flow through the cross bar as I speed down the road. Inserted the plastic wrap in a zig zag way from end to end

Drove it and I personally like the results. Is not silent but I went from not liking the noise to barely noticing or remembering I installed them.

The bars should have a rubber insert?

Moey, tuned8e, i got mine used and they are the cheap knockoffs from ebay. I have read in this forum other user complain about the noise on these bars. Glad you are not facing this issue. Mine were loud and i cant figure out why yours are silent while mine was not. I installed them the same way as before and I couldn't tell of any defects.

Re: What did you do to your WK2 today?

Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC)
Transmission Over Temperature
TOT ERROR

I just purchased a 2006 Grand Cherokee Limited 4x4 5.7 Hemi 70,000 miles on 1/29/16. Ran fine for a few days on the highway. When I transitioned to my 4 mile commute, I started getting the Transmission Over Temperature error. Both electrical connections going to the cooling fan were in very good condition. I twisted the solenoid that is mounted to the hydraulic cooling-fan drive, and tapped it a few times. All of a sudden the fan was running at different speeds, other than low (100-500 rpm) and HIGH (during a TOT alert). If I have any further errors, I'm replacing the solenoid or cleaning up it's piston.

I'm new here, but my last JGC(ZJ) was on the road for 250K (miles). I'm intimidated and excited to start wrenching on a new generation. YMMV
