Re: What did you do to your WK2 today?

Peeled the black pinstripping off my GC. The three things that bugged me the most when I called the leasing agent and asked for a HA with a Hemi was the pinstripping, front plate drilled into bumper and the trivalent chrome. I fixed the first issue. The second one was probably my fault since I have driven JKU's with aftermarket bumpers for awhile and didn't think to ask for one without the plate being drilled so I will deal with it. The trivalent chrome I wish was black, but I guess I will deal with that as well since its leased and I'm not changing anything like that.

First pic with the pinstripe and second without.

I can't figure out why they pinstriped it in the first place... that is so 80's.

Re: What did you do to your WK2 today?

Got my Red G2 caliper paint in the mail recently -Avoid the selller "car-accessories" on Amazon though

I bought the G2 paint from them and it from shipped (in a box totally destroyed) without the reactor in it. Called them up and they said they were completely out and could not ship me any - stated it would be over 4+ weeks until they could complete my order. I asked for them to just open up an unsold box and send me the reactor, but they still said they were out. I ever so politely inquired how they were selling and shipping out boxes of this paint if not one of them had the reactor in it - they promptly ignored that question and offered me a full refund.

Placed the order through a second vendor who assured me all the parts would be present - and they were.

Was all set to tackle this today, but the weather was not fully cooperating; very windy/over cast and threat of rain tonight. I don't have a garage right now, so will try again next week-end.

Me neither. Just another sneaky way to charge more money I guess.

This is something I would really like to do, but it is so labor intensive. Also at my age, the entire job would have to be done either bending over, or else down on my knees because I have no access to a lift. My back and knees can't take it any more. It sure would look good though. Especially in gloss red!

i talked to my local auto paint place before i did mine. they said they'd do the whole thing (meaning, i just drive it there) for probably $400-$500. if i just brought the calipers there, much cheaper, but i would have to deal with the brake lines, etc. i mean, it's expensive, but not too bad if you really want it.

best of luck.

Installed my running boards this weekend. I am quite pleased with the function and appearance!

Considering the time and labor involved to do it properly, that really isn't too bad. Especially if it includes the cost of the product.
