Leave it to a dealer to come up with new and unique excuses for part failures.
They may mean the orange Rainx washer fluid crap you pour in instead of the regular blue. I never used the stuff and both of my spayers broke off. Probably just another attempted way for the dealer to blame people for the vehicle failings.

Ahhh... DUH! Never thought about the RainX being washer fluid.

Up here I use Purple Power washer fluid. Rated to -35F and will take light ice and frost off.

Based on what his dealer told him, now I wonder if I run the risk of melting (not breaking) my spray nozzle fittings using this hi-test stuff.

Isnt it great that we have purple, orange and red washer fluids to match the purple, orange and red antifreeze that exist in two similar looking reservoirs on the right and left with two similar looking yellow covers lol.

They're trying to make it challenging for the few DIYer's left out here.

Under 50 MPH
Absolutely no noise. Neither the fairing nor bars make a peep

Above 60 MPH
If my interior sunroof was open, I could hear the wind rushing above and/or below the fairing and there did sound like some plastic was rattling around.

To remedy this, I added the soft adhesive foot pads that come with the fairing and put them in-between the connection point between the fairing and the plastic roof rail housing. This has eliminated any plastic rattling sound.

If you want to eliminate all noise, I think you should consider the oversized fairing (44"). After you cut it down to 42" - 42.5", you will have full coverage on the rack and the gaps that can create a lot of noise will be eliminated. The cutting was very easy to do. I used a dremel to cut the edges, and then I sanded them down and sanded a bevel on them. It looks completely stock. I’ve added pictures below to illustrate.

Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks for getting back to me. I noticed the same thing at slower speeds that the rack is quiet. I'll have to look into the longer fairing once I get the Jeep back. It's currently being shipped from Seattle to Italy. I'm moving this summer and the military is taking me to Italy. I wanted the car once I got there so I had to ship it early from the states.

Re: What did you do to your WK2 today?

So, I decided to get some new shoes on her. A while ago I upgraded to some 2013 18" anniversary Rubicon wheels wrapped in duelers but came across a sick deal for some 17" rubicon wheels with NEW goodyear duratracs. Here are some before and after shots.

If anyone is interested in my old shoes, they are in the classified section. uploadfromtaptalk1463355478987.jpguploadfromtaptalk1463355490898.jpguploadfromtaptalk1463355495712.jpguploadfromtaptalk1463355498185.jpguploadfromtaptalk1463355500772.jpg

Re: What did you do to your WK2 today?

I removed the chrome trim on all 4 doors and was able to get most of the adhesive off. Now that the doors are clean, debating on putting on the door lettering from the newer WK2's which I already have or leaving the doors bare. The rear emblems were all shaved when I got it so kinda digging the all clean look now.

I'm still waiting for the dealer to fix the oil leak at the oil filter housing. I scheduled an appointment 3 weeks ago, and they've had it for a week.

Sigh. I even brought the TSB with me too.

Bare!
Lettering is useless and only serves FCA and owners with Alzheimers.
It would be cool if badging was an option.

These 3M stripe erasers work great on decals, pinstripes, and double sided tape. We use them in the body shop. Will not damage paint. 3M Stripe Off Wheel 07498, 3/8" Mandrel, 4" Diameter x 5/8" Width, Beige (Pack of 1): Power Rotary Tool Accessories: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific

A little pricey for one time use but they last a really long time.
