Nothing has changed about the tow hooks that I'm aware of for JGCs on this platform. HA and Summit, however, do require either reworking the lower covers or using an alternative cover that folks have mentioned may be available.

Re: What did you do to your WK2 today?

WHAT DID I DO? More like what didn't I do, with my Brand New, only 65 miles driven 75th Laredo (Recon of course!)! What I didn't do, at the Albertson's parking lot . . . Turn Off The "Key(?)" . . . WHAT KEY, Ugh! So used to the 2003 Ram 1500 - with actual Key; none of this Key-FOB (magic). SO 20 minutes later I come out and notice my "running" lights on, hmmm . . . then notice the Faint Sound of the V6 ! First reaction, oh shoot, left the key in the ignition! Then I remembered the "Fob" in my pocket ) too small to be my Flip-phone, and alas I stick my hand behind the door handle . . . and all is well again!

2nd Thing, this more of a WONDER WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF . . . with my cool, nice-feel Shifter. "Q?" What "purpose" does the Button on the shifter have?
Pretty sure I know what most think it is to have & what the Dealer Sales guy said . . . "always push it in to change from PRND". BUT, I am finding this function totally UNNECESSARY! Why? Because "One would think" that IT would therefore, also function to Keep the shifter in the position you select, right? I've surprisingly found that it Does NOT! On 2 occasions I have Accidentally pushed it out of Drive into Neutral . . . stupid stuff . . . but I've since learned to Stop Fumbling Around with cups & other junk in the cupholder while departing "parking lots" ! On the highway this could be an "issue" !
POINT IS . . . Why Doesn't the "Button" Keep the Shifter in Place ? ? ?
Tomorrow I will address this with the Dealer, 1st by asking to compare with other G.C.'s on the lot.
Thoughts? Comments? Similar experiences?

The button on the shifter doesn't operate any differently than buttons on past shifters have. It doesn't prevent it from going from D to N or N to D but it does prevent it from going from D to R or P, or from R to P for obvious reasons.

Is this "obvious reasoning" based on Experience or Tests done or . . . ?
OR is it just an assumption because the scenarios mentioned involve accidentally pushing the shifter thru 2 modes, and by then (hopefully) the Driver realizes the "oops" and corrects in time ?
Just because it's operated that way "on past shifters," doesn't necessarily mean it shouldn't be Better at Preventing such things "in the 1st place"!
Other than that, I LOVE my New Ride and can't wait to get the "breaking in" done so I can go have some "fun" ! Thanks

New windshield wipers, New charcoal cabin air filter, checked my tires PSI, and bought a new portable air compressor.

Ever car I have ever owned (starting in the early 70's) with a floor mounted automatic shifter has had a button to push to get from P-R, R-D or N, N-R.
You could always shift between D-N, N-D without pushing it.
Has been the standard forever as far as I know.

Just basic interlock to keep you from blowing up a trans by mistake.

That's the way every floor shift automatic that I've ever driven works. If you can't understand or figure out why it works that way then I can't help you. What have you been driving that makes you doubt that?

Re: What did you do to your WK2 today?

Just added to my pepper stash. Purchased an awesome bestek 300w power inverter that has two plugs and two USB ports for power in addition to a new husky 120w inflator. Went with the plug version of inflator instead of the 12w cigarette lighter version bc of higher output. As a side note, the version of inverter that I bought comes with attachments for the battery to get the whole 300w power supply. You can by the version without for $5 cheaper but decided to spend big!

I gave a "best offer" to the seller on eBay and got it for $25 (including shipping) and got the inflator for $30 from home depot. uploadfromtaptalk1464921711402.jpguploadfromtaptalk1464921718002.jpg
