Don't you just hate when that happens?

But now you have good reason to take that scenic trip again.

Remember, in addition to the memory card, you need charged batteries.

What did you do to your WK2 today?

I had a Murchison lift kit installed today.

This morning:

This afternoon:

Got about 2.5" lift in the front and 2" in the rear.

What did I do to it....well I checked out the 4wd to be sure it was working :-)

Jeep Jamboree preparations begin this weekend so I played on some piles of fill dirt (way steeper then it looks in the photos)ImageUploadedByJeepGarage1476441063.822917.jpgImageUploadedByJeepGarage1476441076.673466.jpgImageUploadedByJeepGarage1476441099.962049.jpg

Re: What did you do to your WK2 today?

Installed new LED's this morning and a few more from the other night.

Lights replaced with LED's

License Plate
Fog Lights
All 4 Reverse Lights
Tail gate lights (interior)

All pictures were taken in my completely blacked out garage. My apologies for the clutter!

Interior Tail Gate Lights (Was originally 194 LED's but switched to 921 LED's because there is enough room and they're minimum 20x brighter)

Switched out Reverse Lights with 921 and 7440 LED's. It's INCREDIBLY bright backing up now.

Replaced License Plate lights with LED's (194)

Fog Lights (completely pitch black garage, no headlights)

Also changed out my DRL's for LED's as well - I don't have a picture of those at the moment.

Re: What did you do to your WK2 today?

LED's are getting very popular. And are quite literally taking over lighting. For all of you guys that live in very cold climates, how do they hold up? I remember back when I lived in Chicago, every light bulb on every car I ever had back then, always seemed to burn out in the Winter months, never Summer. Are LED's prone to that same type of extreme cold weather failure?

I'll guess the opposite, billt...electronics like cold better than hot.

I'll buy that. I was just wondering about the transition from very cold to hot, then back again every time they are switched on and off. Many high output LED's run very hot.

Not true.

LEDs generate no heat at all.

The heat comes from the built in transformer power supplies that convert voltage to levels LEDs can use. Thus, the power supply is your failure point, not the LEDs themselves which eventually quit when they reach their maximum number of on/off cycles.

With modern cars that are now using LEDs as standard equipment, those power supplies don't have to be integrated into the fixtures, which allows the LED fixture to maintain a more stable temperature in relation to its environment.

After market fixtures don't have this advantage, which is why things like fans are often necessary to cool the built in transformers.

Nice. Have you got a link for the interior tailgate leds and the fogs that you used.
Cheers.

Re: What did you do to your WK2 today?

Wiped the water off of the radio (left side) that started to leak from the sunroof (drips from left front corner of glasses compartment) and.......booked it in to the dealer to fix.
