Without pictures, it didn't happen....

BTW: sorry to take the thread off topic earlier. I'm installing under hood lighting on my Jeep, so once it's finished I'll post the result to make amends...

Yeah, I know. I'm trying to decide if I want to use the Velcro tape to hold it in place. I don't like it because over time the glue on it gets really nasty with the hot Summertime temps we're faced with here. On both my Mustang and my F-150 they stayed in place by themselves without any tape.

I'm going to drive it for a while without anything holding it, and see how it stays. If I have to, I'll use a small amount of the Velcro tape they give you. The Jeep Grand Cherokee has a large, flat area on the top of the dashboard, so I'm guessing it will stay without sliding around. We shall see.

im not sure what the official definition is but basically its a problem that a dealer has confirmed that they don't know what in the hell to do about and they throw it back to Jeep corporate as a star case to figure it out and tell them what to do. someone can correct me if there is a accurate way to put that

Mine didn't come with any Velcro. It stays pretty well, best if you have the center speaker and can reach to get the cover tucked in behind that.

Mine has no center speaker. But I just drove it, and it stayed in place without any problems. I'm pleased with it. Dash Topper has always made a nice cover. Their workmanship is very good for the price.

Ah...such a simple but important thing...and a rite of spring: changed the cabin air filter this morning.

Out of curiosity, where is that located (assuming it's not part of the engine air filter system)?

Re: What did you do to your WK2 today?

The cabin air filter is behind the glove box. Open the glove box and pull out the manual tray at the top. You'll see the "door" for the cabin air filter slot there.

Thanks.

None of my previous vehicles had one. I've apparently been polluting myself while driving up til now.

Maybe this will cut down on the dust I always got on my dash up near the windshield where I could never reach it very well.

Re: What did you do to your WK2 today?

Cabin air filters have been somewhat common for a number of years now in vehicles, but sometimes folks don't even know they have them! They do need to be changed periodically because they not only pick up debris in the air flow, they do help with odor control, especially if you use a charcoal infused filter. They are easy to change and it's much more cost effective to do it yourself...dealer service departments count these things as high-margin add-on services and get you for a high price for the product and sometimes even charge labor to install it. I buy them from Amazon...
