After reading your other thread, I would definitely check everything very, very carefully before you put much distance between you and that shop...

It doesn't sound like any of those guys have any investment in the shop or the customers.

I got a set of front tow hook installed on my Summit and change out the side mirror cover to chrome to body colored in a local shop here.

How much is it to change out the mirror covers?

No need to pay for installation. You can do it yourself it's not that difficult of a job. Just need a little patience did both of mine in 30 mins. Just have to be very careful when removing the mirror.

I was getting the tow hook install anyway, so why not just do it all together at the same time. I was worry I would broke the glass or tabs when I remove the mirror, so it is better off have the professional to do it, since they have all the tools.

Re: What did you do to your WK2 today?

I really want to do that too but $300 is just too much for that. Just keep my figures crossed I stumble across someone local that wants chrome and has my color.

Well, compare to what the dealership told me there is no way to remove the cover and I have to spend $900 for a new set of mirror, it is relatively cheap.

What did you do to your WK2 today?

Agree with you Johnny 100% I also went the same route as you. I had thought of getting the chrome ones painted. But then figured for a few dollars more why not just get the factory colored ones. At least you know they will match perfectly. Now if I could only sell this extra set of mirrors. It would pay for the LaminX I had done today on the headlights and Tailights.

I have tired to find a body shop would paint over the chrome with no luck. I have tried to wrap it around with vinyl but I peel off. I am glad I finally able to fine a solution.

Yeah, at first place, i promise myself to not send it there again but after talking with Chrysler customer care and they are taking care of it with them. So, I decided to give them another chance and see how it goes.

Dennis: nice! I think i am going to go w that mod as jeep's next mod
