Of course my wife's and son's luggage was a total of six 50 lbs bags (plus her carry on). I only had a carry on with 22 lbs. LOL (well i am staying until father's day and she is staying until mid August!!!!)

SO question;
Did i exceeded my payload capacity and was I better off with an SRT?
Hehehe

Do they not have a way to do laundry where she's going?

Re: What did you do to your WK2 today?

Got my SRT back from its first service. Had the rear fender flare repositioned correcting, tailgate adjusted and a rim replaced due to a small scratch from what looked to be a stray impact socket. It was a very minor scratch so I wasn't sure they were going to replace it. My hats off to Courtesy Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge for taking such great care of my SRT. What an awesome dealership!

Yes they do have laundry and all common amenities. I sarcastically asked that too hehe. The why for so much clothes for a two month trip is beyond me but she made a good point of having to bring clothes for fall and winter weather. I always travel light though.

Currently very excited as we will be borrowing her brothers BMW 328xi. Would be my first experience behind on of those. ;D

Sorry if some of you feel it was a "fat joke"... You are not worth another reply on that...

Re: What did you do to your WK2 today?

got my first oil change yesterday at the dealership.

dealership had a $19.99 oil change coupon special. however, i notice at the time of checkout that the service came out to be $24(i understand all the misc crap, but something was still wrong). wtf. talk to the guy who reported out to me and he was like BD took 6 quarts and 5, so they charge me. but i was like, the coupon doesn't state limitations. he had to pause for a sec and reviewed the coupon(which is from their site) and i was correct. as a result to that i walked out only paying about $14.

i'll say it was a good day.

So a $19.99 oil change came to a total of $24 and that made you suspicious? Around here, we pay sales tax plus disposal fees that are never counted in the ad special prices.

I would have been happy to only pay $24 on a $19.99 special. Heck, most specials I see don't include the filter for that price.

Re: What did you do to your WK2 today?

Was back at the dealership today to get the rear tow hitch installed. Also had them do the front tow hooks (in black although part of me thinks I should have gone chrome) and swapped out the black grill for the chrome honeycomb from the Altitude.

I also received my set of interior LEDs in the mail so I have a little project for tomorrow.

That's something I don't understand. I have 2 large 5 gallon plastic containers I keep my used motor oil in. When they are both full, I take them to my local Auto Zone. They are none too happy to see me. They've got a large 600 gallon tank in the back just for people to dump off their used motor oil.

I asked them if they pay to have it disposed of. He laughed and said, "Are you kidding? They pay us for it!" He wouldn't tell me how much. But he did show me a few brands of re-refined motor oil they carry. He was pointing to the back when he asked me, "Do you know where it comes from?"

It's the same bull$h!t with rubber tires. There are tons of products that are manufactured from old car and truck tires. With the exception of the steel belts, they're almost 100% recyclable. Garage and car floor mats, rubberized asphalt, along with tons of other products all come from recycled tires. Yet they still have the audacity to charge customers for what they're getting paid to get rid of. And we, like Lemmings, put up with it.

Re: What did you do to your WK2 today?

Today I applied Aquapel; my previous application was about a year ago and I swear it still was helping a little.

In fact, my Aquapel application from last May only substantially degraded after my windshield took the brunt of driving in an ice storm in January.

Even worse, a lot of shops use it for garage heating, which means it saves them money to collect it.

My brother in law claims he needs to get a few more motorcycles so he can have enough used oil to get a waste oil heater.

There is a flat plate on the bracket that covers the hole when it's attached. You could always smear some silicone on the plate on the mounting bracket if you wanted to make sure no water could enter.
