Wow. Definitely grabbing one for mine soon.

Thanks for the update, Kenny.

Same! I need to rep the forum. Maybe just a different typeface and I'm sold.

As for today, hoping i will have some time to paint front grille rings and fog lights too. But how heck can i remove fog lights chrome pieces? any screws involved?

Re: What did you do to your WK2 today?

Tested another batch of Plasti Dip, this time a clear coat. I wanted to try and get my chrome to have a satin finish that kind of makes it look like brushed metal.

It looked great, but unfortunately the texture was like sandpaper and not at all smooth like I was abe to get black dip on my trim in the past, so I scrapped it.

One good thing though was that I was able to learn how to get the grill rings out, instead of fussing with all the work to cover up and mask the front end of the Jeep. The first 3 took about a half hour, then after I learned how to do it in basically two steps, the last 4 took about 5 minutes.

And I couldn't resist de-chroming the rings while they were off after the clear failed and went with another round of black. Just not feeling like forking over $370 to get it all wrapped right meow.

And all before work this morning...

No, I have not seen or heard of the Rustoleum brand dip.

Looked up a quick video though and it looks exactly like the black Plasti Dip I just applied.

Hmm. I'd be interested to find out what it may be that makes it better.

Re: What did you do to your WK2 today?

It's held up great for me on my emblems and side molding. But I really want the letters so should I...,. Go gloss black letters on the hood, rear hatch, and doors? Or just get the chrome letters for the doors and plasti dip to match? What do you think would look better?

That's a question I've been dealing with myself, in regards to just keeping the dipped emblems as they are to match some black matte or satin finish wheels or to get all new gloss black emblems and match to gloss wheels. Problem is I don't want the gloss black wheels, but I like the quality of the factory black painted Altitude emblems and I definitely don't want to mix the finishes...ugh.

For you though Kenny, I'd say go with all new black Altitude badges to match your gloss wheels. It's only natural.
