...and that's why I don't want that stuff on my vehicle. I've found between false alarms and eventual malfunctions, it's just not worth it. I'd rather just pay attention and leave plenty of room ahead of me just in case.
Heck, now that I don't even have a CD player in my vehicle and most of the controls I need are on the steering wheel, the two major reasons to take my eyes off the road are now gone.
Having said that, I do like the backup sensors in parking lots when I have a panel van on either side of me. It's nice to only have to stick my bumper out a bit to sense if a vehicle or person is approaching from out of sight where I'm sitting. After that point, the camera does a good job or providing a good view to the sides and rear until I can directly see. It's very handy when backing out of my garage, too, since there is an adjoining townhouse next door with a couple of kids that like to play out in the parking area on scooters and those little electric cars.
It's no substitute for actually looking, but it's great for times you can't fully see.
