What do you think of these tow hooks

I saw these on ebay. Abl 1SETJEEP Kia CNC Kit Front Rear Bumper High Quality Tow Hook Black PRQ0Q | eBay . I am probably not going to tow anything heavy. I just wanted to be a little different and use different hooks for the front. Not getting the rear since I am looking into a tow hitch. Any feedback is appreciated.

Re: What do you think of these tow hooks

Those look like crap from China made for little ricer cars.

Get the Jeep tow hooks for the front (around $150) and install them yourself (1.5 hours...pretty easy), and once you get your tow hitch installed, buy a D-ring for it ($40 - $50).

Re: What do you think of these tow hooks

Greetings,

I think those look absolutely lovely. That is for a toy jeep that you can buy at Toys-R-Us. Moreover, it really looks bad on a Jeep.

Follow GCLimited's advise and get the right one's. That grade steel from the picture looks like it break under dynamic pressure. Better to be safe than sorry.

Enjoy the 4th.

Best for now.

Re: What do you think of these tow hooks

5,000 lbs is definitely not strong enough for a 5,000 vehicle.

my own rule of thumb... vehicle weight x 2.5 is the minimum strength for d-rings, tow straps, hooks etc.

next time you find a mud hole, step in it. your 1/2 lb shoe takes A LOT of force to pull it out of the mud, now imagine your jeep is stuck in mud.

Re: What do you think of these tow hooks

The looks are subjective...what I have an issue with, is think about it breaking while you're trying to get pulled out. Where are the broken parts and strap going to go? Yea, no idea! Better safe than sorry IMO.

Those are tie down points for running on a dyno, not tow hooks for pulling or being pulled.
You will find them under the back of every ricer who thinks they have power.
