What do you use to clean smudges on headliner fabric

I just noticed some light smudge on my A pillar which has the same but lighter fabric as the headliner. What can I use to clean that without spreading more of the crap.

very lightly dampened microfiber cloth. For tougher stains use woolite. Don't soak the headliner

Thanks, will give it a whirl this weekend. I don't even know how that dirt got in there in the first place... driver's side. I will have to interrogate the wife

Try some soap and water first, if that don't work try some Resolve.

The good news is that the dab of Woolite also worked for dealing with the results of this "genius" move.

A rather prominent nap microfiber seems to work better for interior smudges than a soft toothbrush does.

Re: What do you use to clean smudges on headliner fabric

I actually had my stock tires in the back of the rig and the exterior of the tire rubbed against the headliner. Keep in mind, it had dirt, a little oil and tire shine on it. I honestly thought it was ruined..

So, I did some reading on the interwebs and tried what I read. I dampened it with a little fantastic and let it sit for about 3 minutes. I rubbed it gently from side to side (left and right). Then I repeated until the stain was gone (it was at least a foot long)

Once the fantastic dried (left an outline) i gently used plain ol' water and did the same steps. After it dried, it looks like absolutely nothing happened.

Lighter fluid or pure naphta does the trick for me
