What does "ECO" mean on EVIC with V6?

What does "ECO" mean on EVIC on car with V6? On Hemi it means that 4 cylinders are currently operating. I have V6 and it also appears sometimes.

Re: What does "ECO" mean on EVIC with V6?

I wondered about that myself on the Hemi since I know it isn't in V4 mode that much. It really shows eco when you are getting what they consider good gas mileage. It has nothing to do with the mode it is in.

Re: What does "ECO" mean on EVIC with V6?

Seems like ECO on the HEMI means exactly what it means on the V6...driving habits and minimal throttle that produce better gas mileage.

How do you know if the V8 is running in MDS? I can't tell by the exhaust note so far.

ECO on the Hemi mean that the MDS is active. If you slowly roll into the throttle while ECO is on, you can hear he exhaust tone change when it goes back to all 8 cylinders.

Re: What does "ECO" mean on EVIC with V6?

I just turned it off in the EVIC. No point to it on the V-6 models.

First thing I did was turn it off, too.
It's gay.

That's great. I was not sure that ECO absolutely meant that MDS was active. Thanks.

You are correct, it's the indicator to tell you that you are in 4 cylinder mode (MDS on)

The only thing you turn off is the ECO from displaying in the dash, you do not turn off any function of the engine.
