So last year, my GC was rear end. They replaced the tailgate and such too.
I changed the bulbs to LED for the rears today. I noticed a few anomalies. First thing is, the tip driver side nut wasn't secure. It was loose. I believe it's the nut holding the tailgate spoiler. It was dangling near the end of the post. So I tighten it down. I checked the passenger side. It does stick flush against the panel, but I was able to turn it with ease. So I just snugged that one.
Then I noticed the hinges for the tailgate. The driver side has these silver washer spacers. Passenger didn't. No clue why the shop would do this.... I suspect there should be no spacers? Also, the nuts are starting to rust bc the paint is chipping from it.
Then when I pulled the inner plastic cover, I noticed my driver side top panel has been damaged. The 2 prongs that go into the metal clips broke off. Looks like someone tried to use epoxy to weld it back on, but that didn't work. So this area doesn't sit flush against the tailgate. Short of buying a new panel, not sure how I could secure it cleanly.
