Re: What Gas Station do you use?

Here are my fuel preference rankings. I use only regular unleaded, where available. No ethanol!

1. QuikTrip
2. Kum & Go (they are headquartered in my metro area, but have locations all over the US)
3. Hy-Vee Gas (preference is given if I have a Fuel Saver discount)
4. BP
5. Shell (none nearby)
6. KwikStar/KwikTrip (when traveling in NE Iowa/Great Lakes region)
7. Everything else is the same to me.

Now it's gotten to be that QuikTrip and Kum & Go are a tossup. QuikTrip was my no-exceptions go-to convenience store and filling station but now Kum & Go has improved in so many ways that they are extremely competitive with each other. I recently moved to a different part of town, and now QuikTrip is more convenient for me on my way home from work so that's what I usually choose.

Re: What Gas Station do you use?

I usually fill up at a shell station near my gym. It is the cheapest station in my area by about 10 cents, always. It also has a high turn over rate, which is nice.

Re: What Gas Station do you use?

I usually buy my gas at Costco. Often has the lowest prices in the area. Costco has a good reputation for maintenance of their tanks and operations, and they apparently meet high standards for the additives they use for the Costco "blend".

I aso buy Chevron Techron by the case at Costco.

Re: What Gas Station do you use?

I know this is an older post, I hate to start a new one....

https://s3.amazonaws.com/association...rt-FINAL-1.pdf

AAA is now promoting TopTier over other gas. Tough luck Wawa, Sunoco, Liberty, and Sheetz. AAA said tests it commissioned from an independent lab found that lesser gasolines left 19 times more deposits on engine intake valves than so-called top-tier fuels after the equivalent of 4,000 miles of driving.

Now we debate the validity, or whether Chrysler can void a warranty- etc. Look at the report, it's done by an indepent ISO registered lab, had good data charts, and pictures. Sold me on staying TopTier.

Re: What Gas Station do you use?

Cheapest in our area is almost always SAMs but if we have fuelperks from Giant Eagle they often bring it down to the cheapest and sometime Sheetz is

Re: What Gas Station do you use?

I have only used BP Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel in our Summit and BP 87 octane in our Ford Focus as recommended by Ford. I have never used any other brand in either vehicle.

I used to believe that. I don't any longer. I was proved wrong here in Phoenix back on August 20, 2003, when we had a major gasoline pipeline rupture between Phoenix and Tucson in the desert. ALL of the gas stations here in Phoenix, regardless of brand, ran out of gasoline in a matter of hours. And many were out of fuel for 3 days or more.

If one pipeline broke, and ALL the stations ran out of fuel, common sense dictates they ALL get their gasoline from the same pipe and delivery source. All this "Top Tier" nonsense is a bunch of crap. Gas is gas. All that differs is the Octane rating. It matters far more you get your fuel from a newer station with non leaking tanks, that pumps a lot of fresh fuel. As for me, I frequent the ARCO AM/PM near my home. They're the cheapest around.
