Cool What I HATE but LOVE about my WK2

SPORTS MODE,

I drive a lot of miles each and every week for work. Most of those miles are highway and I usually stick with ECO mode. By doing so I have an average of about 23.5 - 24.2 MPG!! Awesome! BUT WAIT.....

Nearly every time I am near the need fill up the tank, my lead foot itch creeps out. For those last miles I usually let the lead foot Sports mode take over me and completely blow out my MPG. Now I sit filling her up and averaging around 20-21.....

SPORTS MODE - what I HATE but LOVE about my WK2

20 -21 mph on regular is not bad at all.

Re: What I HATE but LOVE about my WK2

Beats mine! I'm getting 19 mixed with the v6 in eco full-time, but my 32" tires don't help.

As for me, I love the radio and uConnect interface when it decides to work. I'm still having an issue with the radio and amp connection, where the radio randomly shuts off and the volume control doesn't work. It's going back to the dealer again, so frustrating on a new car. At least I haven't had any other serious issues (crosses fingers!).

Re: What I HATE but LOVE about my WK2

I'd love to be getting those kind of numbers.

I drive to and from work, all city driving 99% of the time (usually always in ECO unless on freeway) and I'm averaging 16-17 mpg. :/

That's me as well. Pretty sure that was the stated mileage so it is what it should be. Or even better. Stated for mixed is 17 and I'm sure I'm way more city than highway. So I can't complain at all.

Better than a Pilot.

What your display reads for gas mileage...and the "calculated" mileage are two different animals.

Since adding my Airaid CAI, my display reads an average of 22 mpg, but my calculated reading is 20.5 mpg.

You are extremely wise, little grasshopper, to restrain your use of sport mode to when your tank is low, as the vehicle will weigh less, and the impact of your leaden foot to your wallet will be less than on a full tank.

Yes you are right! It ranges from 5-10% different typically. I've been tracking on fuelly:
