what is the difference btw two tow options?

I dont know much about tow stuff, what is the difference btw trailer tow group and trailer tow group IV in use, which one is more popular?

Tow IV has heavy duty engine /transmission cooling, higher output alternator.

Thanks. Is the trailer tow group for 3.6L and tow IV for 5.7L?

When I ordered in July both were available for the 5.7 I got the Class IV tow group because it was only about 100.00 more and you get the better alternator and overall better deal. I think the Class IV is available for 3.6 as well. You just cant pull as much with that engine/vehicle.

Below text copied from wk2jeeps.com site. +1, if you can afford it get the Hemi and Tow Group IV even if you are only doing light loads, it will just be easier and safer.

I didn't realise there was a different braking system for V6 vs V8.

On the Jeep.com website, an Overland 4x4 gets Towing IV automatically with the 5.7.
