Re: What kind of "Freebies" did you get from your dealer?

I wouldn't want them filling the tank anyway. Might put some cheap regular octane stuff in there.

Just like I don't want other people washing my chit. Might use watered down dish detergent.

As for free stuff, I get random oil changes and sometimes used parts. The parts manger gave me a shifter dust cover belt for free which saved me about $800 dollars.

Two keychains and T-shirts.
Full tank of gas, too.

That's what I say. The last time a dealer didn't fill the tank was when I bought a new 1987 Buick Grand National. Since then, I've purchased at least 16 new vehicles (foreign and domestic) and they all came with a full tank.

Full tank of gas and because my dash was screwed up on delivery; leather had big bubbles, and had to be replaced they threw in the Jeep mudflaps I had ordered. They also gave me the "paint sealant" which I suspect was just wax but I appreciated the gesture.

Re: What kind of "Freebies" did you get from your dealer?

Got Full tank o gas and a certificate for 20% off all accessories which lasts for 6 months.

Pretty sweet deal but i have a feeling they already have jacked prices.

I got the Mopar slush mats for $72 with tax.

Re: What kind of "Freebies" did you get from your dealer?

I got a coupon book from the dealership. It includes first oil change free then coupons for all others at 50% off. Money off on other services/parts, etc.

Considering they gave me seven grand off sticker I didn't expect anything from them.

Re: What kind of "Freebies" did you get from your dealer?

A tank of gas and free oil changes for 2 years. And free regular visits for Quadralift problems. :-( Thankfully, for the first time ever, I opted for the extended warranty cuz I think I'm gonna need it.

Re: What kind of "Freebies" did you get from your dealer?

Free? Let's see... I got a lot of runaround that they didn't bill me for. I got two driver's side mats, one for the driver's side, one for the passenger side... no charge. They didn't add anything on for giving me the lower-end 430N rather than the 730N as requested. And overall I got a stronger sense of wariness about the entire dealership - absolutely free.

Seriously, the only thing I got free from the dealer was a coupon in my name for a free oil change. Which is useless since this is my only vehicle and I have oil changes included with my extended warranty.

Free gas? Must be nice. There was a $35 hard-coded line item in the contract for fuel. They explained it that they felt bad giving people a new vehicle with next to no fuel, so now they automatically charge $35 to put that amount of gas in the tank. Btw, with our gas prices that works out to be about 1/4 of a tank, if they use the lowest octane gas. The thought that I spent in the low $50K range for the vehicle and they can't even give me a full tank of gas spoke volumes. I can see if I'm buying an entry-level Compass, but really, an Overland customer isn't worth anything more to them?

I asked my dealer to order me a set of rims (for winter) so I could include that with the loan for the Overland. When I picked them up the place where they bought them included the original receipt. Turns out I paid a markup of over 75%.

The price of convenience I guess, but I'll be a lot more aware if/when I go through this process again.
