Re: What kind of trade in numbers are you getting for your WK2?

Trade in? How can you use that info for your personal situation? There are way too many variables that dealers use to determine what they'll give you..

What do you think I'd be offered for trade on a 2013 lot vehicle like a chevy cruze versus a C7 corvette stingray?

I traded in my car for my WK2 only because I didn't want to have to sell it. That's how they make money... I assume I lost about 4K on that transaction, but didn't have to sell my old car, and time selling, IS money... If you're worried about hundreds or a few thousand dollars, sell it to someone, not a dealer. That's just my own personal free advice to you.

I just don't see how others' situations can apply to you or me. Too many variables.

I'm hoping Pat will get me the same or better offer when my new one gets in. This is where it makes or breaks a good deal. Time will tell.

This is crazy...I'd take that all day long. That is only $1500 under what I paid new for my '11 overland 4x4 (v6) 16mos ago.

I don't think that's the point of the thread. Its just to get a general idea of what people are getting for their WK2's more like a discussion we all know there are variable that factor into each trade. Its just interesting to see what people are getting.

^ Yes there aren't that many "variables" in this equation. The 2 known constants are a used Jeep GC and buying a new GC. Dealers can sell used cars for more than private individuals and deserve to make some money after re-conditioning a used trade.

Re: What kind of trade in numbers are you getting for your WK2?

You may be surprised at what they offer you, as late model used cars are in high demand right now. So whereas dealers always used to give you the line about "you can't go by what KBB or Black Book or NADA says, we use the mega-secret rainbow book", you'll now find that they'll give you approximately what KBB says...depending on what you're trading in. The thing working against you is that rental companies buy and re-sell Laredo V6s like they're going out of style. Look on cars.com or autotrader and you'll see what I mean. BUT make sure yours is spotless, go in to talk numbers with the understanding that you'll take the new one off their hands today if you like the figures they present and know the exact trade-in amount you want (or need).
