When they run out ill either be using Something with added Zinc like Quaker state Defy or Amsoil.

I don't need this bitach ticking like my 4.0L i got because previous owners didn't use zinc rich oil on her.
$12 a change is a great deal! Personally at that price I would definitely bring my own synthetic and consider the $12 to cover labor and filter. Probably the closest you'll get to an at home oil change but without the effort.

Re: What oil do you use?

I picked up Mobil1 at Walmart and ordered my oem filters from JustforJeeps.

I am doing my own oil changes, I am almost 3000 miles now, so doing my first in the next week or so.

Two questions: (didn't want to start a new thread)
I KNOW the dealer will be calling me soon to schedule the first oil change, what proof do I have that me doing it will not void the warranty? I have searched the jeep website for protocols like keeping receipts, logging the changes, havent found anything.

Should I follow the oil change interval reset procedure even though my evic hasnt told me the oil change is due?

Re: What oil do you use?

Im pretty sure if you have a major problem the dealer would be able to tell if you haven't changed your oil or not. Just think, tons of people change their oil themselves when their car is under warranty.

I would definitely recommend keeping receipts of the oil and filter. Logging date and miles of the change.

Definitely will.

I'm sure this was discussed in another thread here or jeepforum, and there was a link to something from jeep stating it was okay... that's what I'm looking for.

Re: What oil do you use?

I get the oil changed by the dealer when the annoying reminder pops up on the dash. Regular dino oil for me. Like others, I got the multiple oil changes for a fixed price and jumped on it.
