Re: What was your 2nd choice?

I was talking to dealers about new 2012 RAM 2500 diesels that were still on lots, but that behemoth would not have fit in my garage. I had been missing my 2008 GC CRD that I traded in a couple of years ago and went for the 2014 CRD paired with the new 8 spd transmission.

Re: What was your 2nd choice?

Mercedes GLK and ML but the JGC had more features for a better price. I had a Honda CRV.

Wife liked the features on the JGC better than any other
car/SUV.

So far so good. Small rattle in the dash on very rough road that I have not had time to take to the dealer.

Re: What was your 2nd choice?

New Subaru Forester Touring turbo, but I didn't like the lack of HID high beams, the front passenger seat's limited movements, the SatNav, and the black interior.

Subaru WRX...just couldnt stand the interior compared to the grand cherokee I bought....I might end up trading in for the new 15 model although...just because I kind of want a smaller vehicle now with more pull.

Having an STi...the interiors will never compare. My headliner consists of cardboard with black fabric on it. There is no sound deadening anywhere...they may have even hidden change in the car to add more rattles.

Re: What was your 2nd choice?

Wk2 diesel ticked all of my boxes. No other vehicle could.

Diesel
Good off road capability
Winch available
Great on road too
Stellar interior and exterior looks
Modern electronics
American made is a huge plus

Re: What was your 2nd choice?

Mercedes M-Class. The dealer is so arrogant doesn't want to sell me a car, so I went for the GC Summit. Price is better and everything come in standard.

Re: What was your 2nd choice?

Nothing. Had I not bought the Overland, I would have kept my old car and moved on o other decisions.

A distant second choice was either a '13 Explorer limited or a '13 MDX. Looked at the MDX several times, but the styling is a little off. The premium gas and poor fuel economy made me move on. The '14 MDX wasn't out yet, but it looks too much like a minivan to me.

Drove the explorer back to back with the JGC and there was no comparison. I wasn't really impressed with the dash and MyFord touch. It had to much going on in the displays, looked to busy.

My first Jeep was a '99 JGC Limited 4.7V8. It was the first year for the WJ design, and when I saw one at the auto show, I knew it was my next car. It was the same with the WK2. Test drove a '13 JGC, but when I saw the redesign, I had to wait.

Picked up my Limited V6 Lux II back at the end of April. It has been great and I absolutely love driving this one as much as I loved the '99.

The exterior and interior design plus the quit ride sold me on it and brought me back to Jeep after having a Lexus and a Toyota. Glad I could buy American again.

Oddly enough, my wife and I bought a '13 Town and Country back in September of last year to replace our 7 year old Sienna. Almost bought an Odyssey without even looking at Chrysler. Glad we did though because they have really stepped up their game and for the price, you can't beat the feature content. The Pentastar V6 really impressed me and is why I looked at Jeep again.

Mike

I like cars and was all over the map. As my sign shows, I already have a couple of Jeeps. Thought of replacing the WJ with a WK2 Hemi. Then saw the availability of the CRD. Wanted that and waited. In the meantime, toyed with having the new Subaru Forrester turbo. Nice car but interior looked cheap.

While waiting for the CRD, my Boxster's brake light went out. Went to dealer and out of the whim, test drove a Cayenne diesel. Well, why not? I was tired of waiting for the CRD. So, sold Boxster to make the difference between CRD and Cayenne. WJ relegated to dog carrier duties.

And lastly, would anyone flip to their 2nd choice if they could, and why?

2nd choice to my 14 CRD was a 14 Hemi, then a 13 Trailhawk, then a 14 Tacoma
