It's pretty much a sure thing that the Hemi is gone for the next generation platform (MY19) based on what's been posted by our insiders. The high performance option will be turbo-based. I'd be very surprised if the drivetrain was compromised based on how Jeep is marketed, however. As to the "crossover" part...the current generation is technically more of that nature with the unibody construction, etc. That doesn't matter to me based on how well JGC does what it does already.

Actually, the 200 may be worth a look. I know someone who purchased one at the end of November and saved $10K with rebates, ending up with a pretty decent ride for about $20K out the door.

Re: Whats after the Jeep?

This is interesting and we just went through this. So we had a 2013 Trailhawk and we were in the market for a new SUV. We really thought we were going to get a Porsche Macan.

So we headed to the LA Auto show with an open mind and kind a large range in budget. We checked out ever car companies SUV's. I mean every company.

Some of our favorites that at least got on the A list; Merc GLA I think it was (mid size SUV), Land Rover Discovery, Jaguar SUV, of course the GC. Many didn't make the list as we either liked the interior but hated the exterior or vice versa.

We ended up heading to Jeep to get the new Trailhawk. We were ready to leave Jeep but I am telling you when you evaluate the rig vs its competitors and the price for all the things we wanted you just can't even come close to the Jeep.

Vehicles I would look at for my next ride (in order)
Jeep Grand Cherokee (especially if they hurry up and add the new uconnect)
2017 Ford Edge Sport
GMC Acadia (the new one)
2018 BMW x3
Volvo xc90
Chrysler 300 with awd
Acura MDX
Some others I haven't thought of

'Better do it soon if a Chrysler 200 is of interest since they will soon stop making them.

Holy shit that sounds so boring. The same vehicle 7 times in a row??That probably makes me sound like a jerk, but I only ever bought the same vehicle once and after 3 months of owning the exact same newer version of what I already had owned before I was like:

You owe it to yourself to spice things up a bit. I'm just picturing your closet full of all of the exact same shirts for each day of the week

But hey if the GC is what you like then good on you!

Re: Whats after the Jeep?

Have too many cars now but either a SRT or Hellcat Challenger will be the next addition to the fleet.

Sent from my iPhone using JeepGarage
.

Thanks, ya I drove one.

To be honest I didn't notice the seat to be uncomfortable at all.

My test drive was short tho.

My only apprehension was the motor.

Motor is quiet but no personality.

I really enjoy driving so , I like a motor with some character.

I'm willing to take the hit on performance for reliability.

WK2 has never left me on the side of the road(keeps stalling but always starts back up) but it has gremlins that haven't been sorted by the dealer in my 5 years of ownership.

Ya , the Grille is a grill!!!!

Right now I think that design is the only one that challenges the WK2 for ,size, value, foot print(not too big not too small ,not too girly....not that there is anything wrong with "girly").

Re: Whats after the Jeep?

I just got back from the chevy dealership. Was looking at a 2017 Tahoe z71 4x4. I love the way the Tahoe looks but after riding in it and then getting into my jeep, the jeep just felt so great. It really is a great size and so many features for the price.

It's gonna be tough to get out of my gc and into a different vehicle

Re: Whats after the Jeep?

I've been lookin' at the GMC Canyon Denali d-max....maybe an '18.

They're a nice size...but, need more 'content'....maybe the MY18 will have the features I'm hoping for.
