Re: What's attached to your remotes?

I'm used to the key. It's the same as my last MB S Class. I have a mini Starbucks card on the keychain and it sits in my jacket pocket. I don't notice the size anymore. If the biggest thing in your jeans is this key you need help.

Re: What's attached to your remotes?

Clearly I'm domesticated. Fob, house key, storage/shed key, key to the hitch reciever lock, gramps house key and the keys to the safes. Plus a couple store cards.

I don't find the key fob all that large. Also for the combo locks I'd imagine it would be pretty easy to break into as all you have to do is watch someone open the door or stick something to the pad that would tell you which numbers were entered/etc. Plus its faster to just be able to grab the door handle and have it unlock or touch it to lock. Most new cars have a fob, including my other vehicle, so I'm pretty used to something slightly chunky in the pants pocket. Also if I need extra keys I have a jacket or rear pocket to put that stuff in.

Actually I agree with him 100%. The only thing I miss about my Ford/Lincolns is that keypad. Its very handy to be able to leave the key in the car and lock it up if you're doing something where you can't carry your keys (swimming, at the beach, water park, when camping, when skiing, when driving somewhere and going for a bike ride/walk/hike, etc). You won't even realize how useful it is until you have one, and then don't have one any longer.

I think Ford must have a patent on it or something...

Anyways as for my keys, I have the smart key for the Jeep and the Lexus, a door key, mailbox key, the key to my office, and a building passkey to my office as well as a mini-USB. The Jeep key is big, but not that big...

The Lexus has an option for a credit card smartkey which is cool, I don't have it.

I wished our fob looked like the Lexus one, not like a "key fob". I don't know why, but it irks me it looks like my eight year old BMW key fob and not a newer style that is as hi tech as it is.

Yeah I agree, the design of the Jeep fob is behind the times. Lexus' fob looked the same way (and had the back-up plug in functionality) when the system was first debuted in 2004, the current key like mine came out in 2007.

Re: What's attached to your remotes?

I don't have anything attached to it - its big enough already.
So I have another key ring for my office keys. Thats the only one I use.
My jeep opens my garage door, and my house keys are buried somewhere - I dunno. I never need to use them as I enter from the garage.

It is nice. 2004 E-Gear Gallardo in Gialo Midas (Pearl Yellow) with the bi-colour sportiva seats.
