Re: Where are you all putting your toll transponders

Since we don't use the toll lanes every day, we don't mount it at all. Just put it on the dashboard if/when we use the toll lanes.

I use the license plate mount. Not to worried about theft. You can always get security style screws though. Look like hex or star but have a circle in the middle. Needs a special socket to fit them. Not hard to find them.

yep I have the auto high beam thing, not many options to pick on summits, colors, motor, CD and bluray that's about it so they are all mostly the same in the options category. the camera is inside of the assembly behind the review view mirror that is mounted on the windshield. you wont block it just attach it to that black shaded area and you will be fine.

Thank you much, that was the perfect answer for me!

Lol! Whatever works! I don't use the EZ pass lanes here in Northern VA much either, but I am very absent minded and would forget to put out, lol!

I believe those are the same fasteners my wife's cousin uses. Thanks!

I just keep mine in the dash compartment near the shifter until needed. Couldn't stand the thought of mounting it. Just tacky looking. NoVA Jeeps represent!

Re: Where are you all putting your toll transponders

I occasionally use the Dulles toll road, so that's enough for me to mount mine. Same spot as everyone else, just to the upper right of the rearview mirror so I can barely see it when driving.

They make non-permanent suction cup mounts to hold them, but screw it.

Re: Where are you all putting your toll transponders

I'm the same as most others....just behind the rear view mirror on the passenger side. I don't even see it from the driver's seat.

I use the plastic mounting Velcro they offer and I haven't had the thing fall off - even for the over 16 years I used the system in my previous truck. I use that because I find it more secure when attaching it to the wind screen on my motorcycle when I travel on it. I wouldn't trust a suction cup for that.

They do make special screw on mounts for motorcycles that attach to a mirror stem or brake reservoir, but I've found it stays just fine one the wind screen with the Velcro. It even survived a piece of 2x4 that got kicked up at me and actually broke a previous shield (now replaced) right at the mount. If not for the shield, it would have hit me.

As far as the Jeep, there aren't a lot of offerings other than windshield mounts (Velcro or suction) or simply placing it on the dash. I choose to mount it on the windshield since I barely notice it there.

Ditto, but I pull the transponder off the windshield and put it in the read-proof bag as soon as I pass the toll. Then it goes in the armrest cubby.

I hit the transponder with a little black paint and stuck it in the black painted area of the windshield behind the rearview mirror, blends in and you barely know its there unless you are looking for it. The black area of the windshield does not interfere with its operation, i used it a good bit over the past couple years and never an issue. I stuck it there 2.5 years ago and never really even thought about it again.
