The should have been a poll choice to "wait til 2012" and "wait till 2012 SRT8" options.

But people may still be waiting whether or not it comes out. Ya know?

Interesting market research. The majority want a V/8. Yet, Chrysler's touting the V/6.

Re: Which 2011 WK2 would you buy! Please everyone participate!

Hi guys-
I currently have an '08 Overland and I would go for another Overland in the 2011/WK2.

My 4WD concerns for the WK2 are:
1. It has "taller" rear axle gearing-my WK 3.73 to the WK2 3.47
2. This 2011 Overland edition is more than 300 lbs. heavier
3. The torque of the slightly newer Hemi is about the same as my '08
4. The transmission is the same as the WK-not changed/improved, but they say help is on the way from ZF.
5. The front ELSD is gone.
6. I am curious about the impact using the ABS to maintain traction will have on brake wear, but the lower wheel speed of "careful" offroading probably means that the there is a small impact.
7. I know the value of wheel articulation offroad and I note that Jeep is not focusing on that issue with the 2011 roll out. I think the air supspension of Quadra Lift system provides progressively less wheel articulation as you raise the ride height. I read one review that said in full extension the Quadra Lift is very stiff allowing almost no wheel articulation. However I think it is meant for temporary use, not all day four wheeling.

So in terms of off road capability for previous owners (of WJs and WKs) Jeep engineers have changed their approach and back tracked on past definitions of capability somewhat. For first time buyers not hung up on such issues I think this Jeep GC will be a pure home run. I love the evolved look inside and out. There is a load of new tech that raises the bar on safety and convenience and I can now put my friends in the back seat rather than children or small people only. Also the new Overland interior is really great and a major step up.

I'll wait until the promised packages are available so I can get a "fully" loaded WK2 Overland. No need to rush into a partially loaded Overland. It's nice to know that Jeep is still trying to retain buyers like me even though I must be part of a dimishing group. My last thought is that 5200+ lbs is a burden on every aspect of the drive train, brakes and suspension and is not in keeping with past Jeep targets, offroading or on roading, and fuel consumption. Hopefully this can be dealt with over time.

So given that all of Detroit suffered a massive heart attack, I am pleased that Chrysler is back with a new commitment to quality engineering and manufacturing. My brand loyalty is intact.
Drive on-
Trax

The title asks for everyone to participate, but there's no "Will Not Buy" option.

I bought my WK 'cause with a 4" lift, 34" tires and armor it can wheel on the tougher trails in Colorado and Utah while still being quite nice as a daily driver. The WK2 is too big and too limited in off-road capabilites for my uses. If my WK was wrecked, I would purchase a used WK1 or if Jeep ever comes out with a Wrangler with a real engine in it, I'd seriously consider a 4 door Wrangler.

Well said.

Imagine a Jk with the 5.7 or even a 4.7 would make it sick.

Not to hijack this thread but Jeep was testing a diesel equipped Wrangler in Moab recently. If I'm not mistaken Fiat has a fair number of diesel engine designs.
