Treker, I need to ask, but why the loaded Limited vs an Overland? The cost doesn't work in the favor of the Limited.

hef, you're right. i priced both and the overland came out cheaper when it was fully loaded as compared to a limited with the stitched dash, vented seats, power liftgate, ect...

overland also has that ring to its name when you say it....doesnt it? isnt that worth something?

having said that, man i love that limited in your picture treker. sweet ride. people in your area are jealous of it i bet.

voted for Overland 4x4 V8 as I have one on order. Seems Overland is the popular choice here, but I wonder what the real world split is between the trim levels?

Early results in with 9% of production being Overlands. However, that number may be skewed by the halt of production of that model to wait for parts.

Well I am no insider, but statistically I can tell you that anyone responding to this poll is more likely to be buying an Overland or Limited, this is due to the fact that "enthusiasts" are more likely to be found on a board like jeep garage and more likely to be dropping bigger money on a loaded model than the everyday average driver just browsing at the dealer deciding to buy a new jeep. Now that is not to say that there are a bunch of people out there on this board buying laredos or other basic models with few options.

I am just saying that I do not believe these poll results will come even close to the real-world breakdown of trim levels ordered.

But it is interesting to see what people on the board are wanting!

That 9% was from production figures, not the poll results. I think you'll find that the "enthusiasts" are those that will actually take the Jeeps off-road, and are looking for capabilities, not refinements.

What I meant was that the poll is showing that around 50% of "buyers" would buy an overland. Simply nowhere near reflective of real-world results. And I was not referring to off roaders or otherwise, by enthusiasts as in someone willing to take the time to post to this forum or research the car somewhere else other than edmunds or jeep.com.

I was not refuting your 9% figure. Making a comment on poll results.

Who in the hell would buy a 2 wheel drive Jeep?

Don't care if I lived in Miami, I would buy a 4x4...

Jeep = 4x4 Period....The guy at Chrysler who decided to make 2 wheel drive Jeeps should be kicked in the nuts several times!!!!!!!!!

Being aware of the price issue & I appreciate your expertise on the closed vs open system. Something about that air ride suspension just makes me think it will sooner or later be trouble. It's just my opinion and like I said I do appreciate your knowledge. I would love to go with the Overland but I guess I just need to know that it's a proven system especially on this application. Time will tell.

And that's a legitimate question with something new to a vehicle line. Having been around Jeeps for quite awhile now, I know there's issues with systems when they are introduced, and I too worry about the longevity of this suspension.
