Welcome to Jeep Garage. Hang around, it's a great community of Jeep enthusiasts.
Feh, real men drive ZJs.
Their wives make them buy WK2's, or better yet buy it for them.
I have a May 13 build 2014, and other than the dealer finding a tightening a very poorly secured ground and me then going over every fastener on the thing, it has been trouble free.
There was something in the early ?14s? with front axles you might want to dig around for or hopefully someone will recall.
I'd definitely go for the 8 speed. Same transmission used in high powered euro sedans, not the Mopar built licensed version that has had its share of features.
Make friends with a dealer and get a good prepurchase inspection to include
oil usage, air suspension health [if you go that route, which I advise] and prior owner maintenance. Some people just don't give a rat about their vehicles and some make sure they get every bit of preventative care needed.
