Post which would you pick?

So a local dealer has two grand cherokees equipped with features I like... But neither is exactly my dream grand. Both are Limited models.

The first has the Ecodiesel, Lux 2, advance tech, and 20" wheels. The second has the v6, Lux 2, and ORA2. The window stickers are not online so this is just what I can tell from pics.

Anyways, If you had to choose between the Air suspension and the advance tech. package which would you choose and why?

The price difference between the two is around 4,000 (which makes sense somewhat because of the diesel...) If my math is correct with current fuel prices (3.95 diesel, 3.75 gas) the diesel will pay itself off in about 100,000 miles.

Thoughts on either one?

Re: which would you pick?

I wouldn't settle for what's not your dream vehicle when spending $40,000 plus! So I would say neither. Order exact model, engine, options, colors you want or shop dealer lots within 200 or 500 miles (you can do this at jeep.com by building your grand cherokee and then searching inventory). If it was me I'd get a Brilliant Black Overland with Hemi.

Re: which would you pick?

I would definitely say order your dream WK2. That's what I'm going to do. I'm going for a Red Limited 4x4, 8.4AN, ORA2, Hemi, Body Color Mirrors, black interior, and a normal sunroof. I will also be ordering rock rails and exhaust to be put on at Jeep's factory custom shop.

Re: which would you pick?

If you can, order your dream vehicle. If not, choose the air suspension if you are going off road, or need to go lower for easy access. Otherwise, go with the advanced tech pkg.

Re: which would you pick?

Definitely don't "settle" based on lot availability. If you are truly going to pull the trigger you should put an order in. I would also do what jgc4ever suggested and build your "wanted" vehicle from the Jeep website with a large dealer search radius.

Re: which would you pick?

Oh that changed..... good to know! I stopped checking out grand cherokee ' s and started checking out the cherokee trailhawk. But then the dealers were reducing the prices on GC's into reasonable territory

Re: which would you pick?

If I had to choose between the Air suspension and the advance tech pkg., I'd choose the air suspension hands down...especially if you plan on going off-road.

I've read that the GC's crash avoidance system is mediocre at best.

Re: which would you pick?

Like everyone else has been saying here, order your exact dream car so you do not have to settle for anything. If you cannot order, than i would go with option 2, or the one that isn't the diesel. Personally I do not like them, which is why I say to go without it but if you need it then get the diesel (If you are not able to order it exactly the way you want).

Just giving my two cents.
