Re: White Gold popularity and a few new color questions

White Gold was my first choice for my new Overland. I saw it in bright silver, and it was kind of bland, unlike my previous 03 Liberty Renegade, which really looked great in bright silver. The dealer had two Hemi's in WG, one with light beige interior and one with black. I needed the off road package, and the one with black interior had it, so that is what I got. I was worried about the black interior until I saw it. Since all the trim on the car is also black, it really works well. Also the headliner is beige, so it is bright inside. The color is very metal flake and really sparkles in sunlight. Sharper than I thought it would be and the printed pictures of it do not do it justice. It really does pop, and I have seen lots of heads turning to check it out. Just make sure the dealer's flunkies register the car as GOLD and not white. I just got back from the lines at the DMV because the new title and reggie said the color was white, so I had to change it. Showed the clerk the window sticker with the color name and a photo of the car as proof of the error on the title. Jeep could have avoided confusion by not using the name of two different primary colors in the name of the color. They should have called it "gold metal-flake clearcoat" instead. No mixing it up with white in the dealer's back office. It is not that pale a gold either, being much richer in gold tone than my friend's gold 2004 JGC Ltd. (I'd call THAT one "champagne", but not the current White Gold.)

Re: White Gold popularity and a few new color questions

I got it - luv it. Wasn't even considering it. I wanted an Overland with the Hemi, ACC, and "black interior". Really wanted the medium grey. This was the only one we could find in NV, CA, & AZ setup the way I wanted, but with the WG, which I never saw (dealers do not order many WG's). I love it. A little darker than the usual champagne vehicles that I see on the road, which I like. The metallic really shines thru. Looks really great with the black interior.

The stone white is too blagh, plain, and boring.

Both. Initially saw it in pics on this forum - later saw a WG Summit in person.

BTW - I agree that "White Gold" is a terrible name. The vehicle is a goldish/champagne color. Anyone who has seen white gold jewelry knows that white gold looks almost like silver ... not at all like the JGC color.

Re: White Gold popularity and a few new color questions

When I was still in the looking stage I test drove a white gold Summit. It was a beautiful vehicle and the saddle interior confirmed my interior color choice. I really liked it. I had already made up my mind to get red, which is what I have, and no regrets. Still, the white gold is outstanding. I have also seen at least two others on the road. It really stands out.

Re: White Gold popularity and a few new color questions

We used to have the kahki cherokee (2008) and it was arguably the best color I'd ever seen on a Jeep. I would have reordered that color in a heart beat but took a look at the alternative... white gold... and tried to hold back the vomit. I couldn't. I vomited all over the sidewalk and had to leave. Ever since I've been unable to hold down solids any time I see a white gold GC. But.. luckily... I've only seen one since and that was at work. Ugly scene.

Ok I'm kidding.

Re: White Gold popularity and a few new color questions

I realize the younger folks out there on this site don't care for White Gold. However it appears from posts in this forum that the color will be continued for 2012 so someone other than me is buying it. I was getting gas this afternoon and once again someone approached me about the color. It was a guy with a WK on the other side of the pump. And yes, he was over age 60!

I wasnt a fan either until I saw it with the biege interior... What a difference that makes!! I would not consider it with the saddle or black, but it really does look great with the biege int.

Hehe!! I've got a white gold (with beige interior) on order. At age 44, I guess I'm gettin' up there!
