Re: White/Grey seat Edges Painted Black

I would get it and live with it a while and see how I liked it before I went "coloring in" the piping and the stitching. Its not just how it will look today, its how it will look over time, etc. That piping is a high wear area, and even if you could cover it up now...is it going to stay covered up?

Its a $45,000 vehicle...plus whatever you've paid to import it (a lot). If you're going to remove the grey piping...do it right.

Re: White/Grey seat Edges Painted Black

With the stitching it has to stand up to the UV light it will be subjected to through the windshield.

My advice still stands, get it and live with it a little bit and see how much it bothers you. Whenever I've bought cars theres always been something that I didn't care for that I've sworn to myself "I'll have to change", wheels, trim. However, once I have it and I'm happy with it those things don't matter to me as much.

Re: White/Grey seat Edges Painted Black

Would take it to an upholstery shop and have them re-dye the piping.

Even with professional supplies, I would expect to have this redone every couple years to replace the dye that wears off.

Shoe polish, (not dye) will come right off.

Aaahhh, only the stitching.......you're first post was about the side of the SEATS aka the piping !!
The only stitching a few members have colored is the dash on an Overland with saddle interior. The saddle interior used to be with tan stitching on the black dash, and is now delivered with grayish stitching. The black interior has a uniform stitching in the whole interior.
