I know there wont be many. Hell, there arent many with Quadra Drive II that wheel their Jeeps...But im curious if any of you do at all? Has it let you down anywhere? Sand, mud, snow, hill?

I had Quadra Drive II in my 12 with select trac. Ive got Quadra trac I in my Altitude and im really blown away by how capable it still is. Cant wait to get it up in the Mountains for some snow this winter in AZ.

Most Grand Cherokee owners use low range crawling around the mall parking lots and test out suspension travel and appreciate the ground clearance when they park on a snow embankment at the mall just before Christmas. And driving down the gravel road on the way to the parking lot where they leave the car and start biking is a perfect example of off-roading. 2 inches of snow on the ground? Who drives in that shit?

I am not in the above category.

What part of AZ are you in? Headin to Jeep Jam on Sat at all?

I may go, if my lift gets done tomorrow...and my wheels and my tires and and and the garage full of goodies I have.

Speaking of...you need my 285/50-20 Terra Grapplers that Im selling. 1200 miles on em, but im movin up to a 33" mud. They look great on the Altitude. STEAL of a deal.

Lots of laughs...

I wouldn't recommend 4-wheelin' with the stock tires, you would probably get stuck.

I've put Goodyear Wrangler A/T tires on and they are great in snow. I live in the Twin Cities so the only 'off road' places are constructions sites and they are usually a mud bog lately, not idea with the QT1 system. (And I don't want to get a ticket for trespassing.)

I was tempted to check out the trails by my brother-in-law's hunting cabin while I was there, but I had a trailer hooked up and spent most of the afternoon sorting through garage door parts and panels to find enough for 1 good door and tracks (long story) before it got dark.

Still waiting for the right opportunity to do a little wheelin'.

The half dozen trails I've been on so far, I've only actually used 4L twice and that was just to crawl up a step or two. QT1 is more than capable for the vast majority of owners and trails.

I wanted QT2 and skid plate for where I may end up and not necessarily planning on going ;-)

Im 100% fine with getting to the places I want to go. I can go more places and do more things, than I care to do in my GC. If I really wanted to play hard hard...theres wrangler (modded) rentals close to me. But qt1 has done perfectly with everything ive thrown at it so far. now that im lifted, skid plated & with 33s on the way... ill explore even more

Alludc that's a mighty fine Jeep you have there! In the picture are you lifted, or is that stock with upgraded wheels?

Sent from my iPhone using JeepGarage

The Pic on page 1 is not yet lifted, and is running 285/55-20 Nitto Terra Grapplers.

In the pic below...its RRO 2.5" lifted and on 33x12.5-20 Atturo Trailblade XT tires

Im very happy with it. If you get offroad, you def want to air em down (theyre LT tires) at least a bit to soften the ride. Their fantastic in the tough stuff when air'd way down. As far as around town and highway, no more noise than any other mid-aggressive AT ive tested, and overall driving impression thus far is very good. We will see how they wear over time.
