Re: Who traded in a Jeep for a WK2?

Traded in a 2006 Grand Cherokee Limited. Got a good deal and wanted to take advantage of the incentive Jeep was running.

Re: Who traded in a Jeep for a WK2?

Traded in an 09 Wrangler JK Unlimited .

I can only hope my WK2 retains its value anywhere near as well as the Wrangler did. - To give some idea, the dealer now has it on his used lot for 31,900 !!

Now, we all know he's not going to get that much, but it's insane to think it's even listed for that.....

Re: Who traded in a Jeep for a WK2?

I'll be trading in a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Classic with about 205,000 miles on it, for a WK2. No major problems, but I need a real back seat now. The WK2 will be my 4th Jeep.

Re: Who traded in a Jeep for a WK2?

I am trading my 08 5.7 GC Overland with 16,600 miles on it for a 2011 GC 5.7 Overland. My warranty will expire on 9/26 and I'm not interested in owning it out of warranty. The dealer gave me a great trade in price because the Overlands are hard to come by and I think they already have it sold to someone. The 2011 GC is now on the rail car heading to the dealer so I will be taking delivery on it in two days.

Awesome. I wish I could afford an Overland.

Re: Who traded in a Jeep for a WK2?

I traded in my '07 Liberty Limited on the Larado. It was a problem free, good Jeep.
We needed the extra room for hauling grand children and yard sale-ing stuff, otherwise we would've kept the little rascal.

Re: Who traded in a Jeep for a WK2?

I didn't trade but sold my '06 Jeep SRT8 with only 23k miles, thought I would enjoy the luxury but actually preferred the '06. I figure I'll drive the '11 for a year and get into a pickup, nice Jeep just not for me.

Traded in an '07 JGC Limited 4.7l. Great car, but I was ready for the WK2 upgrade. Couldn't be happier

What did bother me was the gutless 3.7L and worse the just awful 42RLE transmission. I couldn't climb a hill at 45mph without it lugging, downshifting, revving, then lugging again. Horrible. A bad engine and lousy transmission ruined what could have been a good car.
I have an 02 Renegade that I am getting ready to trade in on a new GC. It is interesting to read your review of the KJ as I agree with so much (but not all) of what you said about it. Like you I love the great off roading and snow ability, love the very tight turn radius, love the 4x4 system. I love the bolt on fenders and roof lights - those lights have come in handy more than a couple times. I like that it looks "Jeep-like". One of the few compact suv's that looks "tough". To me it reminds me a lot of the older Wranglers which I liked. Unlike you I actually loved the bug eyes and that is why I bought a used 02 in 2004, I didn't like the flat hood and squared off grille. Agree about the interior being uncomfortable and not thrilled with the 3.7L - except as a boater I have to say it pulled my rougly 5,000 lb boat & trailer pretty easily. I have the manual transmission so no problems here with the tranny. Biggest complaint i have on the car is the gas mileage. I average around 19mpg and 90%+ of my driving is highway. That is just unacceptable for a compact SUV. Amazing that a full size Cherokee with a 5.7L Hemi gets better mileage than a stick shift 3.7L Libby! That's more a rip on the Liberty than a compliment to the Cherokee. Anyway, nice to compare notes

Re: Who traded in a Jeep for a WK2?

I ordered a 2011 JGC Overland in early May, 2011. The lease was up, on my 2007 JGC Limited, in August 2011. Dealer told me it would take at lease 2 months. It arrived June 22, 2011. I left my 2007 at the dealers the same day. It cost me 2 lease payments, plus the new payments on the 2011. But, no regrets, this is an amazing vehicle!

BTW, I took the Consumer Choice Financing Plan (Canada), with interest free payments for 3 years. At which time, I can return the vehicle or finish paying for it (0% interest).

Re: Who traded in a Jeep for a WK2?

For the most part everyone seems pleased with their trade value. I had assumed my 2011 Overland would drop in value like a rock. Hopefully I'll be trading it on an Overland CRD in a couple years.
