I've been playing around with Aha for a couple of days. Kind of a neat app. Been listening to audio books and 60 minutes shows.

I had an Audi before my Jeep, they wanted $20 if I recall correctly. After the trial I never thought about it again. Google Earth maps was cool, but for that money I can do without it. Should be at most $10 a month, for that I would probably do it just to have it. But $20 hell no. How far away does our remote start work? That's really the only feature I care about. I never use pandora or yelp, and for a manufacturer to still be using 3G in a product coming out these days is insanity to me.

I agree. I'm already hearing the Chevy commercials pushing their 4G/LTE capabilities for in car connection. Stuff like browse the web, shopping, view web videos.

Why can't the vehicle utilize the phones connection to do all of that. I have a 4G phone and lots of data. Makes sense for me to use Uconnect via my phone connection (unless it already can).

The 3g baseband chip in the uconnect unit is much cheaper then the 4g one. And there is a 4g one they could use that works with their partner Sprint. But i agree with you guys that to put a 3g only radio modem in a $50k truck is just silly.

Re: Who uses UConnect here?

I use the remote start feature. It has come in handy for cooling down the car before I leave the office during our week of 90+ degree weather here. After the free 1 year trial period is over, I don't think I'll be renewing though. Being able to warm up/cool down the car is nice but not at $15/month.
