I don't think it's that popular. I can't remember the last I've seen one, while there are lots of Summits, Overlands, and Laredos on the roads.

Production is small and demand is high they are impossible to find at the dealers especially with options you want. That being said I see many around me! Depends on location.

Re: Why are the Altitude's so popular?

They are really difficult to find at dealers. I have only seen one in my area in the past couple of months and I have been hunting for them everywhere. It turns heads everywhere I go.

I don't want to drive what everyone else drives cause it is popular. If that was the case, I'd drive a Camry\Fusion or an Edge\Exploder. How boring would that be?

Clearly more people drive laredos, limiteds, and overlands... So not everyone drives altitudes. That's literally why they are so appealing. Most people don't even know the altitude package exists.

That would be nice.
I would've paid for that add on package.

Why are the Altitude's so popular?

I'm actually in the midst of having my '14 Altitude replaced for a brand new '15 Altitude. Very long agonizing story... Needless to say i searched locally by me and found 10 billet silvers sitting on lots. But White and black seem to be the most common colors around here. These dealers are almost overflowing with Altitudes. So anyone looking for one in the tri-state area try Long Island.

Re: Why are the Altitude's so popular?

I would have probably gone for it if it was available when i got my laredo. though the back up camera was only recently added option if i remember correctly? All i wanted was nicer wheels and a back-up camera on the laredo, and i assume it was intentional to leave that gap to force you into the larger margins of the limited.

If any of the local dealerships were clever they would over a conversion for Overland customers that were interested. if you are jumping up to an Overland anyway, then a $1,500-$2,000 add-on may not be that big a deal, and the dealer can install the pieces.

i think it was really a way to introduce an option to upsell the entry level buyer. the jump from laredo to limited was pretty large. Dodge was doing it with the Durango to. You could get the base SXT with the rally appearance group that made it look like an R/T on the outside.

They apparently are not popular in my area. I have never seen one.

Nice.

I saw a few white Laredos today.
They are not bad looking either.
The white body with the black antenna and black trim(roof rack, moldings etc.) all around really steps it up.

Why are the Altitude's so popular?

It's the 2nd best looking trim level. First would be the SRT.

Re: Why are the Altitude's so popular?

Over here in Australia they are called 'Blackhawk's. look the same and have nice options over the base Laredo, I would like to have the in dash GPs though.
Mine is the only white one in our area and it gets lots of looks. Does look 'bad ass'
