You'd think on a 46K MRSP 75 Anniversary Limited there would be a dual exhaust at least.

Whats the deal?

All the previous years, cheaper base limited had dual exhaust on the v6.

I wasn't to pleased when I took home my 15' Limited . I had looked at some many models and Jeeps over the course of buying, that I actually hadn't even noticed it until I got all the way home in the driveway.

I'm a symmetry guy and liked the look of the duel exhaust.

Oh my wow, why do you get so butt burt about those comments of the v6? People are ignorant. I really dont care dual or single. I have a dual. Whether its a y or true duel i can really gvie to $*%/s about it.

I read somewhere here on fhis forum that all v6 now come with the single as standard. Dont know what year that changed but seen almost every new laredo with single. I maybe have seen a dual back when i was shopping but i can be mistaken. Also, read currently or after this change All hemis come with dual standard. Now that all may change depending on trims for the six bangers.

Someone please correct me if im wrong.

I know you weren't asking me that question, but it's because what he said about V6 models being stripper or rental cars. That's a ridiculous statement and you know it. The V6 does I would say 90% of what the antique V8 Hemi does, while doing other things much better. It handles much better, brakes shorter distance, weighs less, and gets better fuel economy, oh and costs less. Listen, I'm all for lots of HP and big engines, but having been a 2014 Summit V8 owner, it's nice, but not all that the guys on this forum make it out to be. Still no regrets going to my rental edition V6 High Altitude :)

It also saves Chrysler a few $$'s on each vehicle. It called "decontenting". My '98 Corvette had an underhood light, but my '11 Z06 which listed for almost twice as much doesn't.
This is true. It's funny there were a lot of things Chevy dropped in the Corvette going through the years in the C6 model...probably all cars did something similar, but I remember my '06 Z06 had a pull down handle for the rear hatch. My buddies 08 did not. They literally removed a small plastic handle, but I liked it as you didn't have to pull down and get finger prints on the paint :)

Yes they do. It was only removed on the V6 Limited models, which IMO is a really dumb penny pinching move considering CUVs that cost under 30k have them...

Where does it go to one pipe? Except for the suitcase which btw no clue what the pipes do inside there, it is for sure two pipes front all the way to the back. And also for what it's worth exhaust systems can be true dual but still have an H pipe or an x pipe.

The decision fca took on removing the 2nd exhaust on the v6 limited seems simialr to the decision they decided to remove the hemi option on 4x2 overlands. Seems now you can only get it on a 4x4 per jeep.com

Im still bothered by the fact that a 47K Limited Anniversary edition has 1 freakin pipe. Yes I know it doesn't affect performance or anything, but for pure aesthetic purpose...Dual Exhaust looks much nicer than single.

I guess they wanted the make the duals premium for overland and Summit on the V6. The Limited Anniversary with Lux package is at the same price as a overland so that kinda sucks they couldn't at least put the duals on the 75th.

So if the dual exhaust makes no difference why is it that the 2015 - 2016 Overlands and Summit still come with it on the V-6? IMO the dual exhaust looks a lot better then the single. Or maybe now it's just a marketing gimmick to get you to move up to one of those two models. Also the Limited did away with the 10 speaker stereo system. So it looks like my next Jeep will be an Overland!

Optional, and also in the Lux II package if I recall correctly.

I'm still getting a Limited because I hate the stitching and wood steering wheel so much on the Overland. I spend a lot more time inside my vehicle than I do staring at the back end of it.

Yeah its interesting to see what Jeep has done with the different models throughout the years. I remember with the WJ and WK that a Limited was a pretty high end model and had almost 90% of the features of the Overland. Seems like these days a Limited is actually fairly base.
As far as someone stating that the single exhaust may be a way to get some to a higher model...ehhh, maybe there are a few people like us that are more into cars, but to the average person they would never even notice if the car didn't even have any exhaust tip back there. Infact some manufacturers are going that route to have no exposed pipes whatsoever. I have a feeling that will be more and more common as well as we get closer to more electric vehicles. Some day people will view anything to do with a gas engine as old dirty technology. Another reason why Jeep eventually left the Hemi badge off its V8 models. People see that and relate it to old gas guzzling times.

I'm assuming the Overland kept its duals because it's more of a premium trim level. Although pre 14, Overland V6 had a single tip. Who knows...

Lol at the people hating on the V6. It's competitive with the only choice being offered by other automakers. The 4Runner has less hp power and 3 less gears. The Traverse, Acadia, Enclave have less hp and 2 less gears. The majority of Explorers sold (3.6 V6) have less or equal power and 2 less gears. The Murano has less power and a CVT. And even the recently redesigned Ford Edge isn't equal to the Pentastar V6 in the GC. I digress.

With the exception of the 4Runner, the others aren't really comparable vehicles.

Lol at the people hating on the V6.
Size doesn't matter. It's what you do with it, honey.

Er...:eek::rolleyes::p

I don't hate V6's, I think they can be great in a slightly smaller vehicle than a GC.

I had a V6 in a 1992 Chevy Beretta with a 5 speed manual. That thing was a rocket. Now, today's American V6's get more HP for sure, but they still aren't in line with European ones.

Speaking of V6s, even though I like the Pentastar, I have always been a fan of Honda V6s. Had the 3.5 in my 07 Acura TL-S, and now the latest 3.5 in my wife's 2015 Honda Odyssey. Such a smooth and good sounding V6. After driving my wife's new Odyssey I often find myself wishing my Grand Cherokee sounded like that. They run strong to, I'm pretty sure my Summit V8 couldn't get away from my wife's Odyssey.

3.6 is not significantly bigger than the Mercedes 3.5. If you look at the engines HP/liter it's pretty even across the board. I'm not seeing where American cars are using giant 6 cylinders to come close to the European cars. BMW 3.0 at 255hp is right in line with the Mercedes 3.5 at 302 and the jeep is not far off with 290. The jeep is tuned to run in regular and E85 though. Take a look at the Challenger and it's right on par with the Germans. The Chevy and Ford offerings are at even higher power levels. American manufacturers are also starting to lead the industry in 4 cyl. Engines as well. Take a look at the new Focus RS.

I always thought there would be a difference based in factory engine ratings. 283hp is the starting point for a 3.6 in the basic models with single exhaust. Minivan and charger. The jeep was 290 running on the same octane gas. Where did the 7hp come from. What about the challenger at 305 on premium. Does the challenger have anything else different other than the premium gas tune? Is the minivan any different other than the single exhaust?

I don't care about all the specs. IMO the dual chrome pipes out the back look a lot better then the single. I'm sure most Jeep owners here would agree on that!

Since this thread started now whenever I see another Jeep i'm looking at the exhaust
