Why did you buy your Overland vs other options

Originally I was looking at Jeep vs the LR4. Once I settled on the Jeep, I spent a lot of time sea-sawing back and forth between a Limited with add ons vs an Overland with the Off rd 2- finally settled on the Overland. It gave me just a few little extras that were standard on the Overland and once priced out it was the best deal for the overall value as got more for less. I traded my 2014 Jeep Cherokee V6 Limited as the tranny on the Cherokee scared me!

Re: Why did you buy your Overland vs other options

For me, pretty much same reasons. When I was done "upgrading" I was saving minimal money and didn't have QuadraLift - which I'm a fan of if for nothing else the self leveling, although the ride is super smooth.

I also like the idea that come resale/trade in time, my Jeep will stand out in the crowd of Limiteds, LUX II or not. I don't mean that in a snobby way, merely a supply/demand hoping I get quicker/better offers.

All in all I'm certain I would have been happy with whatever Jeep GC I purchased, but I have no regrets about mine.

Yep, I wanted the air springs and various other things, including the interior colors and finishes. I can afford it and drive 2,000 business miles per month, so being cheap would have been silly.

Re: Why did you buy your Overland vs other options

I'm in the opposite camp (although haven't bought yet, holding out for details on the 2016).

I'll be ordering a loaded-to-the-gunwales Limited. I hate the gussied-up stitching on the seats and especially the dash of the Overland, and I hate the partially-wood steering wheel. I'm going to get the light-colored interior, and I like the black floor with that option in the Limited. By the time I load up the Limited with the tech, lux and offroad II packages, plus the N radio option, it will basically be an Overland but without those little things I hate - and I might even save a shekel or two, although maybe not. The only things that I think I will be missing are the power folding mirrors and puddle lamps and dual exhaust, and I'm willing to make that sacrifice (although I do think it's bizarre that the first two are not included in the lux package). Different storks for different forks.

Re: Why did you buy your Overland vs other options

For me, it was very difficult to find a Limited with the additional features I wanted on a dealer's lot near me. It was simply easier to find a base Overland. Had the additional features I wanted compared to the Limited, and then some, as mentioned above by others.

Zero regrets on the upgrade to the Overland.

@BubbaATL - I actually really wanted the partially-wood steering wheel. To me, it has more grip to it compared to the all leather of the Limited. I tend to take turns (at low speeds) with one hand on that wood portion. Never have worried about my hand slipping from that area during a turn.

Re: Why did you buy your Overland vs other options

BubbaATL's testimony is identical to what I would say. My 14 GC Limited with LUX, ORA-2 and TECH packages is the same as an Overland minus the slippery partial wood wheel, stitched leather dashboard that will discolor in time (and also requires black sharpie treatments on the stitches), the puddle lights (meh) and the power-folding mirrors (just the power folding part, not the chromatic features)... And minus 2100 dollars in price. Win win. Cheaper and with more toys than the standard Overland and without the things I hated (wood trim and leather dashboard)

I was looking at the Overland and the Summit. I like the looks of the Overland better. I liked the tow hooks, front fascia, wheels, etc. So I went with the Overland.

Re: Why did you buy your Overland vs other options

I went with the Overland for the painted trim, which the Limited does not have. I knew after a while all that black plastic was going to fade. Also was a better value than a loaded up Limited. Kept it simple and ordered an Overland with just the Hemi as an option.

I don't think they are chrome. They are covered with white plastic for shipping.
