Re: Why did you choose Grand Cherokee

My wife and I got our 2007 WK Hemi for pulling a boat... somehow got a letter from local dealership who wants buy our jeep for 16k.. (we bought it for 13k at small dealership) so, we were like "why not just go over and see whats up" few hours later, we left with 2014 JGC limited unexpectedly. Yep, it was 100% unexpected move cos it was on Sunday.

Re: Why did you choose Grand Cherokee

We have two JGC's an '11 and a '15,the '15 bought on the reliability of my '11. So,I will use the '11 as my example as I have owned it from new and has had miles put on it.
Equipment:-Panoramic sunroof,uConnect system touch screen and steering wheel controls, leather interior, keyless to go package(never an issue).......when purchased I ticked pretty much every extra available for a Laredo,(Dealership tried hard to get me to upgrade to a higher model but wanted the Laredo because there were other problematic options I plain DIDNT want).
Engine:-V6 and coupled with the transmission has always worked flawlessly and without issue.
My Jeep has been a problem free car from new, never an issue, exceptionally comfortable on trips long and short, never been stuck due to weather conditions and very economical compared to others in its class.
I specifically wanted a JGC due to cabin size, fit and finish and cosmetically exceptionally pleasing to the eye.UBER reliable and will remain with me until the wheels fall off,(have had my Wrangler since 1990 and STILL going strong).
Now,my memory ISNT the greatest being a few years since I bought this Jeep, but, when I was looking for an SUV I DID check the various competing car makers, looking for this group/class vehicle. Some were up to $11,000 more for the same equipment spec and overall the pricing just wasn't competitive from other makers.Because of what I wanted,no one had one on the lot so could only be ordered.
I decided on Jeep, and have NO regrets,it has served me faithfully and without issue.Overall value, worth every cent and a far more attractive price package than every other maker,if I remember right,Ford was the next closest and $7200 more overall.I consider the Jeep Grand Cherokee to be unbeatable in its class for price, quality, fit and finish and looks.Like I keep noting,I have had NO ISSUES with anything on my Jeep and has only ever had regular servicing.Thats why I bought and keep this SUV.Issue free vehicle, very reasonable insurance grouping, economical and just a damn nice looking vehicle.
We own four Jeeps,1990 Wrangler,2008 Jeep Liberty Limited,2011 JGC and our (my wife's) 2015 JGC,the '15 we DID have an issue with the 8.4 screen that was eventually replaced.Other than that, our Jeeps have served us very well and continue to do so without problem.
Can't go wrong with a Jeep,a fine,reliable Brand.

Re: Why did you choose Grand Cherokee

I'm Chevy guy from toenail to balding head.
Decided we needed a 4x4 vehicle for winter and a SUV with good gas mileage to drive on vacations..
Currently had a lowered 09 Silverado and a small Mazda car and a extended cab 2003 Silverado. When I would go on vacations me and the wife had been borrowing my dad's larger car. Better gas mileage.

Did i say I'm a Chevy guy?? Well I do not think the equinox or traverse fit me. Seems to soccer mom for me. And a Tahoe doesn't seem to be a small SUV with good mpgs.

So looking abroad I fell in LOVE with a Jeep renegade. For the past 6 months trying to find a white trailhawk with sunroofs and navigation within 200 miles. I finally gave up..and nagging wife saying it's to small.

So I started looking larger. Knew I could afford loredo trim.

But I wanted leather, remote start, navi, sunroof............... So I threw my price limit out the window and went for what I deserved instead of logical price for my income. Going from a 30k msrp to a 48k msrp...
But I couldn't be happier. Amazing vehicle. Nicest vehicle ID ever been in.

But I still love the oddness of the renegade. And will be adding my own Easter eggs and things to the grand cherokee. Already ordered tiny Willy's decals and a Sasquatch. Lol

Why did you choose Grand Cherokee

I wanted something that was quieter than my Rubicon. For the most I got it. Some roads though amazingly the Rubicon was much more quiet and I was running 37's. Stupid 20's on the HA.

Try 275/55-20s for more sidewall height.

Don't want any fitment issues. I was thinking about the Cooper AT3 in stock height just for better off road traction.

The air suspension is noisy. Lots of thuds and crashing on uneven pavement. But overall the vehicle is pretty quiet. Maybe you should have got a summit though.

Its not that kind of noise that I hear. It is tire noise. Every expansion joint or imperfection is noisier than I thought it would be. Its not really that big of a deal actually. Its just noticeable. No other real complaints about the GC. Nicest vehicle I have ever driven, but I mainly have driven Wranglers, Xterra's, FJ's or Cherokee's so to me the ride and noise is generally better than all those vehicles. There is just a hum and whine on some roads from the Fortera's that I wasn't expecting.

Re: Why did you choose Grand Cherokee

More than likely I won't spend the money for different tires. This is a lease and I'm not planning on dumping money on mods. The Canvasback and Husky liners can be sold easily when I trade this in and have already paid for themselves when my puppy threw up on the liners.
