Might be out of the loop a bit, but are you sure you're getting a fold flat front seat with a Limited?

To the OP: biggest factor was the lack of hassle (DC group buy). everything was done over the internet. Next, I built it the way I wanted it ...No Lux, No 20" ( which was hard to find here in North Carolina)

Re: Why did you factory order your JGC?

like others, I had a budget, and couldn't afford certain items I didn't want. 20 inch wheels and the advanced tech package, for example were things I didn't want in exchange for the diesel option and Lux 2 / ORA 2.

Re: Why did you factory order your JGC?

I wanted to order the car, so that I could have the packages I wanted (impossible to find a car with lux2 and ORA packages). I also wanted to lease, so this prevented me from customer ordering and I had to settle for one with no ORA. I did install skid plates and tow hooks on though

Positive I'm getting it. Specifically ordered as such. Along with body color mirrors, non-ventilated leather seats, no sunroof of any kind - it's as close to a Laredo I could get with the EcoDiesel.

Nice. Seems like Jeep is offering more options as time goes on ( I suppose I should have gone on the website to answer my own question).

Great configuration ( wish that was around when I ordered last summer), enjoy it when it arrives.

HUH? I customer ordered a built to order 2014 Jeep Cherokee and had absolutely no problem leasing it. The dealer really does not care if you lease or buy it as he gets his money either way.

I was told by several dealers that leasing prices are done as of the current month when the car is delivered. Since the numbers change monthly, they couldnt tell me how much the monthly payment would be.

Re: Why did you factory order your JGC?

I special ordered mine becuase they weren't in dealer inventory yet - but there was another reason: I didn't want to buy a "new" vehicle that others had already taken out on test drives.

I test drove similar vehicles many times. They had less than 10 miles on them, but I still had to put the pedal to the floor to see what they could do. I wanted to break my vehicle in properly!

You shouldn't be negotiating the payment but the final delivered price of the vehicle. The vehicle price is fixed in stone once the order is placed. True the lease payment may change a couple of dollars either way based on interest rates and residual at time of delivery but that would happen if you were buying the vehicle outright too. I had a pleasant surprise when I took delivery of my customer ordered Cherokee. The lease payment was actually over a $100 a month lower then what my dealer had guessed at. Chrysler Capital, Chrysler's new finance company is making some great loans and leases right now even if you have shaky credit.

Re: Why did you factory order your JGC?

I have a Cherokee, not Grand, but.....

> Wanted a later build date (early 2014) for this launch vehicle
> Didn't want a vehicle sitting in a lot (perhaps since June 2013) waiting for the transmision fix and then vehicle release.
> Needed the Trailhawk + wanted the Tech Group, UConnect Group and Comfort/Convenience Group - all 3 groups generally not on dealer Trailhawk models.
> Didn't want huge, gaping, open, ugly, raw license plate holes in front bumper

....and my Liberty was working just fine, so I had the time to order.

It's kind of a shame that so many people have the "The hell with the next guy" attitude. It seems to be much more common today, or maybe before the internet nobody admitted to it.

The website didn't specifically allow that configuration. I went to a dealer of choice, and asked if the vehicle could be de-contented of specific items. Set down with the dealer in front of the order computer, and went through each item line by line to see what could and could not be added and removed. In the end I'm getting a limited EcoDiesel without the Lux II package, with trailer tow, with Nav, with ORA I, + body color mirrors & flat fold seat. I will be de-chroming it, adding in an ARB lift, and Mopar wheels. Basically I'm building my own eco-diesel Trailhawk.
