Re: Why did you factory order your JGC?

I was able to work in a fixed trade in value with a handshake agreement that I wouldn't put excess miles on it outside of normal driving. If it turns out anything other than that next week, I'll let you know ;-)

You can order body color mirrors on Limited (without lux II). No charge. (unlees they changed that)
That's disappointing

Re: Why did you factory order your JGC?

Another, though probably insigificant to some, reason to factory order it, is they put your name on the window sticker. I don't think any other manufacturer does that.

That is cool!

Bought my 2015 off the lot because I wanted a black on black Overland. Every dealer in my area had at least one black on black Overland, so there's no reason to place an order and wait.

Ford did it with the Mustang I ordered back in 2008. Had my name right on the window sticker.

I don't think it's very reasonable to expect a dealer to put a value on a trade 8 weeks in advance; anything can happen to that car in that time. The most you can do is leave yourself open to walking away from the purchase (no financial penalty) if you're not happy with the value he is offering at the time when the jeep comes in.

I got a good offer from a dealer 50 miles away from my home. They also wrote me in an email that we can lock down the price for my trade in car when we do factory order. I am planning to meet them on Wednesday.

Mirrors caps cannot purchased after the fact - meaning if you have chrome and want to replace with body color - without ordering a whole replacement mirror.

Re: Why did you factory order your JGC?

I wanted the exact color combination and equipment. Since I wanted an Overland with 18" wheels, that really mandated a factory order.

Every dealer I've ever dealt with had no problem doing that. The trade value is based on what they think it'll be worth X weeks down the road with X number of additional miles on it. Obviously, if you add anything outside of normal wear to it in that time or have a major mechanical issue, that will effect the final value at the time you turn your trade over.
